seriously?  Everybody worth a damn beats Va Tech in a bowl game.  In '07 KU didn't play Tech, OU, or Texas.  We played everybody in the confernce this year.  Our 10-2 WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more impressive than the 12-1.  A lot of crap teams on that '07 schedule.
Academics is a stupid word.

Academic schools are synonymous for being rich, powerful and exclusive, three things Kansas State is not.

So when people throw the word "academics" around, that's really what they are referencing.

KU's SOS that year was identical to Ohio State's, and they played in the national title game.

LOL, god Va Tech was so horrible that year (just like every year).  That Glennon guy was a scrub.   Man, I still can't believe KU almost lost to them.

Interesting that you chose the years 06-07 for KU instead of 07-08.  Why is that, 'Pad?

Oh, that's interesting.  I thought it was because KU played five ranked teams in the '08 regular season and finished the year 8-5 with an Insight Bowl.

By the way, Virginia Tech has eight consecutive 10+ win seasons.  Just an unbelievable DoD they have going right now.

Just thinking back to all the heat that K-State took over many of the last 20 years, yet, K-State never went a single season during that stretch without playing at least 2 Final Top 25 teams, and most years it was more, including multiple national champions.

ku goes 2 full seasons and plays 1 Final Top 25 team (a loss).

Six ranked teams from 07-08, but hey, you're a K-State fan, so you're naturally required to frame arguments in your favor based on arbitrary points in time.

You want to constantly take credit for 2007 Beems . . . yet you can't stand it when its pointed out that ku didn't play anybody.

What other point of time is there to point in ku football history over the last 30 years?  That's right, none . . . with maybe the exception of 1995.

Mangino really doesn't get enough credit for this.  He's not a good coach, but his Houdini act has a half dozen people thinking he might be.  Well played Mark

Six ranked teams from 07-08, but let's go with the time frame that helps our argument.  So typical of K-State.  Never consistently good at any sport, with the exception of soil judging, so they have to pick and choose what years count.  So sad.

Never consistently good . . . something like 20 NCAA tourney appearances and 17 league titles from 1951 to 1991, and for much of that time it was much harder to make the NCAA tourney.

4 straight 11 win seasons during Snyder 1 . . . ku has never even breathed on anything like that, ever.

Pffffftttttttt.....   KU has seven straight conference titles and is one of two schools to win a BCS Bowl and national title in the same year.  K-State isn't even in the same universe when it comes to athletic accomplishments.

Your point was that K-State has NEVER been consistently good in anything . . . and that is patently false.

Meanwhile, ku has one major sport that has NEVER been consistently good . . . ever.

K-State followed up a Big 12 title with a 4-7 season.  Not very consistent.
