Really disappointed in some of the folks in this thread.

Frankly, it's a little . . . sad.

The game was lost on the defensive end.  We can't win if we allow an oEff of 130.

Yeah.  I was hoping to hold them to 115-120 and match it.  I thought that was the only way we'd win in Lawrence.

ksu couldn't force turnovers.  ku did (or at least kstate turned it over a lot, ku wasn't really applying that much pressure).  at least that was the first half.  the last 10 minutes was just lethargic defense.

Tonight showed that for us to advance beyond the sweet 16 - Wally, Rodney and JR need to consistently produce on both ends of the floor.

Because Lumbering Lu, Energy and Dom (aside from the fluke nub game) are nothing but dead weight on offense. uk's D just left Dom and Energy alone on the perimeter and clogged the lane. They doubled Lu, every unfortunate time he got the ball and got costly turnovers. It's not a secret. Good teams have exploited these glaring weaknesses over and over the past couple of years.

To be elite, we need Wally and Rodney to play like they have in both uk games, for the rest of the season.

it showed nothing of the sort.  it showed that with kelly on the bench and samuels playing like crap, kstate has a lot of trouble scoring inside against perhaps the best interior defense in the country, even when that defense is completely selling out to defend the perimeter.  not a huge surprise.

exactly. and unfortunately, kelly is in foul trouble more often than not, ditto for jam sam. which brings me back to my original point - when those two are on the bench, we had better not be depending on lu and energy. or dom when we need some offense. if we want to be ELITE that is.

When are they going to move the three point line out to where the NBA has it?  Sheesh.

KSU was in zone for a LOOOOOOONG time before KU did any ripping of anything.

This, they didn't rip anything apart

Also, Offense would have been better if Kelly and Samuels were allowed to play, unfortunately they were facing DQ from the tip.  Needed Kelly's ability to hit those 15 footers against that garbage triangle and two

I kind of thought Kelly got hosed last night.  Seemed like he didn't get to use any of his fouls, committed 4or5 without actually committing any.  If that makes sense. . .

yeah. kelly def got hosed on 1st and 3rd at very least. and jam got hosed on double foul. frackin morris put his fist in jam's throat.

but i expected those sorts of calls going in, and though they hurt us, they weren't the reason we lost.
i was pretty shocked at a couple of the calls we got last night. it's the best treatment we've gotten from the stripes in AFH in a long time.
