Is the SEC the best of the worst?
« on: December 05, 2011, 12:41:02 PM »
I've run a ton of analysis on the SEC as a conference and my computer is getting tired of me!  But anyway, I've run all the numbers from all of the SEC conference games, then run the non-conference game numbers and every single time, the SEC comes out as the worst of all Auto-Qualifier conferences.

The latest numbers look like this-
1) Big 12
2) Pac 12 (-15)
3) big 10 (-34)
4) ACC (-65)
5) Big East (-103)
6) SEC (-140)

 :barf:

I know there have been thoughts of breaking up the SEC and letting the bigger conferences absorb their better teams.  I'd love to see this because the reality is that they have a decent team down there in LSU but beyond that  (and I don't care what the polls say because Bama is nothing but overrated).  Arkansas would probably finish between 5th-7th in the B12 if they had the stones to play in a real conference.

All of this is very funny Catfans because, and stick with me here, SEC fans will brag all day to you about their conference.  All day long they'll rehash the same argument  as to why their conference is so elite.  LOL I love it because they can't handle the truth.

'Clams, we just jettisoned a bunch of dead weight in the Big 12, no reason to bring a bunch of scrubs in now. We just need to sit back and realize that we got it right the first time when we didn't bring Arkansas into the Big 12.

Love the way that the Big XII cast off their dead weight (aTm and UM) and the SEC just gobbled up our refuse. This will only make them weaker, us stronger. Still cannot believe the AD accepted this bowl bid...

This isn't the same computer that picked Alabama for the title game, is it?

A&M is. But you're right, B12 teams are just vying to get out in general.

NUbb got out because they couldn't beat the Texas and Okie schools on the field or in the recruiting battles anymore.  CU got out because their alumni is a bunch of rejects from California & can't get recruits from their own state anyway.  A&M is leaving because they barely can get to 6 wins in the Big 12 even with all of their 5 star Texas talent, and will have an easier go in the SEC.  Mizzou is leaving because their coach is an alcoholic that drives while intoxicated and this is frowned upon in Big 12 country, but is altogether encouraged by SEC schools, as it helps endear him to the fan base(s).  These schools are all paying enormous exit fees to go to conferences where getting into a BCS bowl is easier due to the lack of competition.

So you are correct, these teams ARE DYING to get out of the Big 12.

aTm and Missouri both wanted to be in a league where they could actually compete. They knew they had no shot a a conference title in the Big12.

You're deluding yourself if you think A&M has a better chance in the SEC West.

52.80% Wins in the B12
42.66% Wins in the SEC

If they play each team in the SEC West, they'll go 0-6.

Scratch that, they have a chance at 1-5 with Houston Nutt's shattered Ole Miss.

Are you kidding me?  Lack of competition in the SEC?  You really have no clue, do you.  Let see....two weeks ago BCS #1, #2 #3 all from SEC west.  This week, 4 SEC teams in the top 10 in the BCS, Big 12 (which isn't even that any more) 2 teams.  How many BCS Championships has the Big 12 (10 in reality) won?  2.  Once in 2000 and then again in 2005.  SEC has how many? 7 and counting this year it will be 8.  That is 8 times a team from the SEC has won the BCS National Championship.  8 times in 14 years = 57%.   Big 12 2 times in 14 years = 14%.  Lack of competition, huh?

Keep drinking that cool aid.

SECWest basically a circlejerk of mediocrity. None of the SEC teams would have finished above .500 in this year's Big XII and it is going to get tougher next year. aTm and UM planned their escape at just the right moment...

Not to mention the fact that America's Team (KSU) decided to spurn the SEC's offer to join last summer.  Currie knew that joining that trash league would only lower our reputation in the eyes of normal college football fans.

I expect A&M will win the SECWest early on, but that will taper off as the SEC recruits start filling their roster.

what log schale are you using? i used a log base 10 scale with a freuderer algorithm and every single time the sec comes up at #4 with acc and big east behind them. can you pm me your numbers or post them cause i've ran mine ten times and they all have the big twelve at #4.
