1) obviously, he's going to be someone we wish we could have hired
2) can we talk about his recruiting connections in Texas or a potentially similar state? Gold mine. Pipeline. Blood diamonds. Already jealous.
3) youth, charisma, potential ethnicity and/or regional charm? What does that add up to? National buzz, that's what. Hope we enjoy those DVDs on the 59 pointers
4) innovation. I'm talking real disruptive philosophies here. Not just dusting off the single wing and passing it off to urban Meyer as your own.
5) oh, and salary? Is there a better deal to be had? KU is gonna prove its all in and committed to winning football games, but also get it's money worth.
6) one word. Staff. Is there a better one in the big 12? These guys have experience at key positions and influential programs. The only fights with the bball team will be over whose turn it is to polish all the new trophies. If Snyder was KU's coach this year, you might as well flip those records and the head-to-head scores. Try and imagine what he could do with the talent KU already has in addition to the new recruits who will be lining up for the new staff. What's that? You can't? Not surprising, because farm-state could never bring in this kind of talent.
Bottom line: we had a nice run. But 59-7/21 hurt us in the long run.
