Like him or hate him, BITB brings up some great points. Doesn't sound like the Weis family is all-in on this job.

Quote
Weis' work starts with hiring a coaching staff and recruiting, but he said he would not go after Florida's coaches. That includes offensive line coach Frank Verducci, who worked for Weis at Notre Dame and came to UF after Weis was hired.

"I'm not touching his coaches. That's not the way friends do business," Weis said. "I'm not going after his coaches."

Sounds much better than "I wanted them to come, but no way did they want to come to KU."

"You're goin' where, Chuck?"

"KU"

"Oh, good luck with that, I think I'll hang here."

So did Ron Prince. Both better than Weis IMO RT @SKietz: KU fans, turner gill killed it in press conferences too. How did that end up?

Anybody else think it sounded like Zulu basically did pretty much everything short of getting down on his knees and sucking Weis off (and maybe that too) to get him to come to KU? So sad to see one of our alums fall that far.

he is really the perfect hire for both ku fans and kstate fans. ku people have def heard the name and will be excited because of the name and the fact that they'll think they are on the map and big time players in college fball and ksu people will love it for all the obvious reasons. hats to ku for the absolutely perfect hire. god bless them.

also, i don't want it to sound like i'm totally crapping on the hire. if weis brings in a good oc and dc there is absolutely no reason that they couldn't be iowa state in a year or two.

Except Weis can recruit at a higher level, and he'll bring in some top notch assistants as well.  Just an absolute homerun hire for KU.
