Well, thanks for nothing Tulsa.

Big 12 BCS At-Large is now down to:
- Ohio State over Michigan
- Oregon State over Oregon
- Southern Miss over Houston

Houston wont matter, TCU or Boise get the non-AQ spot even if Houston loses.  Notre Dame over Stanford is probably bigger and more likely that the ones you have listed.

Also entertaining offense that will fit in well in the Big 12.

Same O he ran at Okie Lite - well, without the 30 year old QB and the  future all pro WRs.  But I get your point.

True. I forgot he had worked with Leach at Tech as well. Some slight differences from OSU because of personnel.

Watching future conference opponent, atmosphere in Morgantown looks pretty decent.

Enjoyed that game, and I enjoyed their fans.  I grow more fond of this addition by the day.  I hope we can strike up a rivalry there with Coal Aggie.

Can a 9-3 ND sneak into the BCS?  That's a wildcard that wasn't really on my radar.  I thought they had to be 10-2 to qualify.

probably not. they have to be in the top 14 to be in contention. unlikely that they shoot all the way up unless there are upsets ahead of them.

There's something else about their agreement since they're an independent, and I think they have to meet a minimum W/L criteria.

Edit: Just checked, and they are an at large if they win nine games and finish in the Top 14.

If they beat Stanford the voters will likely jump them into the top 5...they are Notre Dame after all.

Well, they're pretty much as deserving as we are to be 100% honest.

Besides, there are scenarios where we're just as likely to make the BCS as an at-large eligible Michigan.  There are five SEC teams in the Top 14 and two non-AQ teams, which means there are pretty much four spots in the Top 14 that are ineligible.

There are really only two things that can happen that would prevent us from going to the BCS at this point:

1) KSU loses to ISU
2) OU beats OSU

KSU, should we win, will probably sneak into the Top 10 after next weekend.  After that, it's all OU/OSU.  And even if OU beats OSU and we go to the Cotton Bowl, the consolation is a share of the Big 12 title.

It's all win/win provided we beat ISU.

The BCS does not have to, and won't, take TCU or Boise State as an at-large, no matter how high they are ranked. Their only chance was to be an AQ, and Boise State can't AQ because they won't win the Mountain West, and TCU will win the Mountain West but won't be ranked high enough (top 16).

Similarly, Notre Dame won't finish high enough even if they beat Stanford, and Stanford won't drop low enough even if they lose. That game is irrelevant.

If Ohio State can just win this game, the Big 12 gets two!

If the Big 12 only has one BCS spot, and if OU beats OSU, I sure hope the Cotton Bowl would take us over the Cowboys, but that is by no means assured.

If by "earn it," you mean Michigan will get in ecause they are... Michigan, then yes. Otherwise, no. Michigan will finish 9-3 in an inferior conference. It will be a travesty if the second-best conference in the nation only gets one BCS spot simply because the media slobbers all over teams in the Pac 12 and Big 10.

won't they finish 10-2?  thought they only lost to msu and iowa?

such anger.

I understand it..Just saying that the Cotton Bowl is pretty effing good for a team that would have been happy with the Meineke Car Care Bowl to start the year.

Yeah, I want a BCS bowl too, but I think going to the Cotton..and sharing the Big XII Title is going to be tremendous.

Because the Top 14 is so littered with SEC teams that there are too many ineligible teams taking up spots.  It may end up that there won't be much 'selection' involved.  Teams will be forced to take the ten eligible teams in the Top 14.
