I thought Gus was great. The other two I could see a complaint or two, overall they were a good crew.

They get spoiled with Stan.

Anything short of unapologetic homerism is not appreciated by the average tuck.

I suspect Stan probably had K-State's overall offensive performance pinned down to just being part of the plan.

Scout has turned into an absolute cesspool of illiterate powertards. Even worse than it was a year ago if that was possible.

Big 12 championship = regional accomplishment

BCS Bowl = national accomplishment

But yeah, finishing with a share of a depleted Big 12 title would just be amazing.

Mods, why is OregonHawk so mean to everyone?
When one person, for whatever reason, has a chance to lead an exceptional life, he has no right to keep it to himself.

BCS bowl games are pretty meh. Conference championship and the Cotton Bowl would be infinitely better.

Football programs that suck and have one good year = BCS game is their goal/dream/banner/source of pride to last for years

Football programs that have been there and plan on getting back there care about Conference Championships.

All that's all there is to it.

Yes, finishing with a share of the Big 12 title is far more impressive. It is more difficult to win the Big 12 than it is to go to a BCS Bowl. Also, if playing in a BCS Bowl were such an accomplishment then more than 20% of your fanbase would realize that we have already played in one.

Good point.  For Example:

K-State two Fiesta's, only one Dr. Pepper
KU one (can't remember, but I think they made one once in some controversy) v. never even sniffed the Dr. Pepper

I mean, teams have made a bcs and not won (or played for the) conf championship, but no team has won the conf championship and not played in the bcs.

much harder to win the conf championship, much more desirable

KU has back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back conference titles, and I'd trade all of them for a national title or a BCS Bowl victory.  You hayseeds just don't understand what it's like to compete on a national level.

You must be a sith, because you profit on pain and misery.  It makes me sad all day when I'm trying to TeamStateConference my ass off and it is getting late and i'n a little sleepy and then I get hit with this.

Competing on a national level in football is completely different than doing so in basketball, and there is a lot more to it than making a damn BCS game. Between this and my thread on KU delusions I've switched my allegiance to MU for the "big" game. Hope Gary runs it up, and runs it up bad.

It's more difficult to win a national title in basketball than it is in football.  And go ahead and root for the Slavers... no one from KU wants your support anyways.

In basketball you get a whole season to fine tune your team to make a run. That run is very hard, but you don't have to be the best team all year to win the title. Just the best team for a few weeks.

Football is different.

UCONNs don't win football titles, they win basketball ones though.

Winning the toughest conference and cheating? I'm pretty sure that happens in basketball too. So I don't get your point.

UConn won the toughest conference and cheated as well.  The point is that different teams are good at different sports.  It doesn't really have any relevance when it comes to which sport is more difficult to win a national title in.
