Hoping Martavious can be a 3rd option at the point and someone to spell guys at the 2. Unfortunately, we'll probably see many flat jumpers clank off the rim from Martavious. He is a decent defender, but would much rather give Southwell his minutes at the 2.

You seem confused.  Those are Southwell's specialty.  Although I was impressed with his minutes tonight, he is not even close to being as much of an offensive threat as Martavious.

Shane's value is in his versatility on D.  The only reason anyone thinks he is a good passer is because frank said it one time.

He is an inconsistent passer.  But 5:2 A/TO is an indication he had a good game passing.

he's a great passer in the sense that if someone is open and in position to score, southwell sees that and gets that person the ball.  he's a poor passer in the sense that if there is a defender in between southwell and the open man, southwell either doesn't see that or doesn't care.

Southie is still super young and looks a bit bewildered at times. I would like to think that, with more experience and the comfort that should come with it, we will see fewer dumbass passes  from him.  Like Sys said, he sees the open guys a lot but seems to not notice the defenders at times.  Kind of a forest/trees situ for him in the infancy of his 2nd season.

i know this is a 'tay thread but since the topic seems to have moved towards shane i just wanted to make note of his two handed push the ball/pass to mcOrebs as mcOrebs was cutting baseline last night.  very weird looking.  but.  it just goes to show the effort shane will put forth in making a pass.  any pass.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

Very good passer.  Even the passes that look like a game of hot potato.

After living through the Asbury/Wooly years, the thing that impressed me about this play was not so much the pass itself, but the fact that we had someone on the receiving end who not only was looking for it, but actually caught the damn thing.

Yes, both highly adept at flat clanking bricks from 17+ feet out, but Shane is longer, a better passer, and generally more adorable. His offensive game will improve.

the name "Martavious" fits well in place of the word "Disturbia", in Rihanna's hit song "Disturbia".
