The (almost) annual football contest between the University of Texas Longhorns and Kansas State University Wildcats has been nicknamed the "Chisholm Trail Rivalry." This has not been much of a rivalry to date, however, as the Wildcats have dominated the series since the initiation of the Big 12 Conference, going 6-2 since 1998. America is just jumping on this rivalry like crazy.  It just raced past UT v. OU and is right on the bumper of OSU v. Michigan. 

When will it become the biggest rivalry in college sports?  My forecasts predict sometime in late 2012, but the metrics are changing pretty rapidly.

I stopped caring about K-State football for a bit after that.  Figured if OBz couldn't be bothered to learn how to manage a clock and score, I wouldn't be bothered to pay attention.  Didn't last.

Had my first CTR Dream last night....First drive of the game, Ash drives them down the field, 1st and goal at the 8....Ash throws a 7 yard out and nigel jumps it and takes it to the house. Herbie is going off about how everyone says texas has better athletes but nobody came close to catching nigel.

Don't get how this is a rivalry yet?  Two hugely recognized teams playing each other?  Yes.  Two huge fanbases hating each others faces? Yes.  The two biggest named coaches in the country? Yes.  Look, all that is fantastic and makes for high enough ratings to keep ESPN in the black, but I just don't understand how this is a rivalry if TX can't win a game?


How long until the national media Ho-Hum's this thing and ignores it as the fore gone conclusion it is?

McCoy will start, Ash is questionable. Okafor is questionable. Hopefully our O-line will find it's groove against a team that has lost 3 starting defensive linemen (assuming Okafor doesn't play).
