I always thought it was the Tuesday or Wednesday of the week of the game.  No idea why I think that....and I'm probably wrong, but that's what I thought I heard once.

KU has sold general admission tickets for a long time.  Usually the tickets are sold and the game is a sellout.

the scene before the game in the p lot yesterday was depressing. about as good as you could expect weather wise and a decent team coming in and pretty empty/boring. crowd first half was pretty bad too. that being said, not much you can do when a school returns 3k tix a few days before the game and big12 sellouts are actually pretty rare. just look at top 5 and undefeated osu this year. they still haven't sold out a game.

Upper deck does feel pretty isolated. It will be somewhat better once the press box is enlarged.

The upper deck seats are actually really good as far as being able to see everything on the field goes. The just don't have the same atmosphere as the lower level, though. It's not as loud, and the people around you don't get as excited.
