Who the hell else would get this award?

Gundy? eff no. He almost lost to LHCBS with a superior team. I think it's fairly obvious we should just go ahead and hang a banner.

This discussion comes up a lot. There is merit for both doing more with less and the ability to stay on top when you are picked high. Its hard to say which deserves it more, but I think if OSU wins out Gundy gets it and I won't have any complaints.

It's not like OSU is some big time football program that is consistently winning championships. Gundy has built his program (with a little t boone money) and deserves COTY if they win out. He's gotta get over the OU hump though.

COTY isn't about how well you have built the program over time. Its a singular evaluation of a season.

No crap, but you can't just throw him out of the COTY race because they were supposed to be good this year. Leading your team to an undefeated season in one of the top two conferences is a pretty damn good.

Part of coaching is recruiting. So whoever gets the most out of the amazing talent they have recruited should win COTY. #teamgundy
