Agree w/ rebounding sentiment above. So far this is franks worst boarding team to date.

Also, Gip is the only player I have ever seen w a neg vert. He seems to actually get lower to the floor when he jumps

Gip gotta board for us to be successful.

" When I put guys in the game we are up 24 to 16, they did not play well and they can tell you that. They know what practice has been like the past two days, but we were still up 24 to 16, I make substitutions and all of a sudden you are down by fifteen and you are saying  why did I play those guys, to win you need five not twenty-five  (no clue what this means)."
[the subs that came in were Gipson/Jones/Ojeleye]

martin is saying that he shouldn't have played so many people.  he played his bench even though they have been practicing like crap and it was predictable that they would play like crap.  only 5 players can play at a time, not 25.  hence you only need 5 good players (like ku), and only 5 players need to play.

Surprised to see JO as a positive to so many.  I was very disappointed in his play, maybe because I had high expectations or maybe because he was 6 inches taller than anyone on their team.  I didn't see many positives other than coming from way down to get a win.  We have a long ways to go to get to where I thought we would be

This is the worst 3pt shooting team frank has had.

it's times like these I wish the internet didn't exist.  You and tortuga posting about basketball is about the most embarrassing thing in ksu sports history.  As a fan with a brain, I have duty to point out that not all of us are as stupid as you two.

not what I wanted to do today, thanks a lot

That makes sense.  In the midst of the score it seemed like gibberish.  When the transcriber switched from numerals to words I guess I should've read that as a context clue.

Will be interesting to see if Frank follows through and doesn't get into the bench early next game

A bunch of idiots will criticize the offense for being "street ball."  Actually we have no one who can really create off the off the dribble at will when we need a bucket.  Enormous problem.

I agree with not having many players who can create their own shot off the dribble.  And, when teams play a man defense, it will be glaring.

But, CSU played a zone for the majority of the game.  And you don't really beat a zone by dribbling through it.  I'm not Bobby Knight, but I know that you beat a zone by collapsing the zone and kicking to the wings or short corners for open jump shots.  You collapse the zone with dribble penetration or by hitting cutters at the FT line, elbow area.

Our problem against the zone (has always been a problem) is that we don't collapse the zone and we don't pass the ball well.  Hence, no open looks.

Frank always has our Forwards cutting to the FTline and cathing the ball - back to basket.  Problem is that these guys are the worst passers and shooters on the team.  However, in the 2nd half, magically MacGruder started to cut to the FTline, catch the ball, and face up the basket.  And, magically, we started getting a better offensive flow.  Maybe Frank could have made this adjustment in the 1st half instead of giving the team the silent treatment.

Also, it may be smart to put our best shooters on the wings so that, theoretically, when the zone collapses, we got guys who can actually execute an open 3-pointer.  Spradling, A-Rod, MacGruder.  Instead, we got to watch Irving and Southmouth throw up brick after brick.

I think Frank needs to be seen by the scheme doctor.
