Whoever decided we shouldn't run the ball at the end...
« on: November 05, 2011, 10:47:58 PM »
Is officially the dumbest coach in the nation.  Cardinal sin of coaching, don't outsmart yourself.  eff you for not letting Kline try and punch it in.

Snyder/Dimel/Miller regularly outsmart themselves, it's what they do.

Some of us are used to it.

Run wide, and get out out bounds if there's nothing there.

Oh well.

There's a reason you thought you should put OK in your name, it's because you're a rough ridin' loser.  Only rough ridin' losers play to lose by a little bit.  Meanwhile, the winners get paid and eff the prom queen.  So shut the eff up, and be a loser quietly.

I was there near the endzone that Brian Kavanagh threw that interception that ruined the Cotton Bowl for us.

That play was rushed and none of our coaching staff thought about calling a timeout.

crap happens.   :runaway:

I don't know how many seconds it actually took, but that fade to Lockett seemed like it took a long time.

The offense didn't lose this game, you dumbf*cks.

If you want to point a finger, at least point it in the right place.

Klein could have easily run it in on the last play. The left side was wide open.

Criticizing the play calling is Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) in a game that was lost by a shithole defense.

They gave OSU 14 points early. Those might have been helpful at the end.    :dunno:

Or, you spike the ball on first down, then try a run, since it's been so successful, while you still have your timeout in your pocket.

Instead, we rush a 7-second fade, try another fade, then run some crappy rollout.

 :flush:

Being an apologist is pitiful no matter the events of the game.  The right play call sets the Kats up for a win, period.  Every play before that is meaningless.

Run our pass, it doesn't seem like we had a set of end-of-the-game-while-the-clock-is-running-out plays ready to go.  eff that.

It's on pages 425-26 of the playbook, which were inadvertently left in Vanier by Shorty Kleinau.

We had one time out.

We passed the ball with 5 seconds because if we ran it without it resulting in a TD the game is over.

Criticize Klein for not running on the last play when the play broke down, but I don't see how the play calling itself cost us this game.

The plays were bad because they didn't work.

I likely would've ran the ball with 12 seconds left when we still had the timeout, but I don't think it was some horribly stupid decision to throw. If anything on the last play we had a miscommunication because neither reciever broke out into the corner of the endzone. I didn't mind the fade to Harper or Lockett honestly, we tried to get the ball to our 2 best recievers.

This was simply a TEAM loss, neither the defense nor the offense made enough plays to beat a team as talented as OSU, especially on the road.

How did we move the ball all game long?  How did throwing the ball work out?  It's not even a question of what they should have done.  You have one play, 5 yards to go, you go with what works.

If I'm not mistaken we had our best passing game of the year. You can call it overthinking (maybe it is), but most coaches won't run there because of the risk. I likely would've run the ball on 2nd down after spiking it, but its not like throwing (nor the calls) were terrible.
