Company Wellness Programs
« on: October 27, 2011, 10:20:48 PM »
They're great right?

Just this year for reporting my "healthy habits" I've gotten free shoes ($80), free UA t-shirt ($25), free sleeve of golf balls (wgf, but it's free), $156 off my health insurance, a $200 visa gift card, and I got $50 for running a mile in under 14 minutes ( )

all told over $500 worth of free stuff just for reporting about my health and all on company time  :driving:

get ready for your share of health insurance premiums to be determined by your particular measured level of health/fitness.

iknowrite.  Eat it, drinks 37 "diet" cokes a day and has a different kind of burger everyday for lunch guy.  I'll enjoy my healthy, delicious wrap, and lower insurance premiums thank you.

Do they actually check to see if you're doing what you say, or is it kind of like the honor system?

Do they actually let you jog/walk your 14 minute mile on company time?

I get 100% covg on my premiums, and get to leave early(30min) twice a week to go to the gym(the second one is something I just do, not something they announced).

Nothing fancy, but the premium thing is legit.

So, you're saying you leave early and hit the bar?

I have the super high deductible plan so I don't pay any health premiums either.  I also get $1k put into a health savings account from the company at the beginning of each year.

does your company have an onsite fitness center?

yes of course ($15/month, which is good compared to other gyms)

Do they actually let you jog/walk your 14 minute mile on company time?

no, but $50 for 7 minutes ( ) is still pretty good

Do they actually check to see if you're doing what you say, or is it kind of like the honor system?

most of the daily "healthy habit" stuff is on the honor system, but the 14 minute mile, cholesterol check, and some other stuff they actually make you do

LOL @ all you fatties needing money to encourage you to work out

free money man, it would be like not churning cc's

I forgot to mention I get $25 if I keep my bmi under 25 for the year ($25 for every 5% of weight loss if you're a fatty and your bmi is over 25)
