Love Gates.

I'm a fan of Bryant's meat and Gate's sauces.

Had one of the Gates platters this past Friday.  Dropped a rib on the floor and felt really down about it afterwards.  :frown:
which platter did  you get?  the 4 Boner?

s'clams,

Anyway that you, Saul and I can do Gates again ?

Good times...

need to work on getting SBG back to KC for more training

Naw, the mixed plate.  (Sliced Beef, Sliced Ham, and Ribs)

This could possibly be a new thread all in its own, but does anyone else think Oklahoma Joe's is a bit overrated?  I mean it's good BBQ and tastes fine, but nothing compared to Gates or Bryants IMO.

Thoughts?

I have a thought. GTFOOMF!!!  OK Joes is the best. Gates and AB is good, but I hit OK Joes way more and think it is superior BBQ. Damn it, now I'm hungry.

Overall, I am with you on this one.  However, it depends on what you get.  None of the big names are better than the others across the board, imo.  Just depends on what kind of BBQ you want(ribs, beef, sausage, etc.).

But I'm still looking forward someday to a trip down to Tally for one of these:

This is so damn good.

'clamz.

Take the 13 hour drive down to San Marcos and get yourself some Woody's barbeque.

Tomorrow.

ok joes is ok, definitely overrated.  cheese and onion rings don't belong on a bbq sandwich.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Can we not F this thread up by everyone posting pictures of food they'd like to try some day?

This is a thread for clams and other board elites to post pics of the actual food they will be eating for lunch.  Nothing else.  ok?

QFT.

True test of a good BBQ joint is how good is the food without the sauce, imo.  If you can enjoy their ribs(etc) without sauce, they are doing something very right.  Good sauce just takes it over the top.

OK Joes has a good sandwich(Zman) but other than that, I prefer elsewhere.

That didn't look too appetizing.

Opposite day?

I almost took a bite of my computer screen.
don't worry Wichita, i ate enough for both of us.  and you're right, it was really really good today.

That didn't look too appetizing.

   ok   tofu_Cat

It was really really good?  Is this what we can expect on future lunchtime's with s'clams?  Not asking for the 'New Yorker' or anything but this was kind of weak.
Fifteen minutes later, when the Kansas locker room opened its doors to the media, the Jayhawks were still crying. Literally, bawling. All of them. I've never seen anything like it, and I've seen devastated college locker rooms -- after losses in the Final Four, the national championship game -- ever

Clams works in the Leawood area, so this thing's a crap shoot for today.  Also, he's EXTREMELY unpredictable.  This rough ridin' thing could go Ya Ya's just a fast as it could go TGIF.   :ohno:

Welp, there goes my morning.

I feel like I am out-thinking myself on this.  On the one hand, I know that 'Clams is a fan of fine dinning.  On the other, he I know he loves a good "dive.".....and there's Chipotle as his instinctive reflex move.   :dunno:

Too much of a gamble.  Sometimes you get a batch and they are great, sometimes they are way too f'n hot.
Where did you get that overnight bag?
