If we make it to New Orleans, I'm going to fight some Bama or LSU fans.  Or maybe some homeless dudes.  Who knows, guess I'll just play it by ear at that point.

WOW BRENT, was that a great throw by Klein to end the first quarter or what?!? Eluding 3 separate bama defenders in the backfield and still having the awareness to find their freshmen speedster lockett wide open down the sideline! This kid can play!

Right on Kirk that was a spectacular play by the young quarterback from Loveland Colorado, dodging tackles while still keeping his eyes downfield looking for the open receiver! Lets watch that again, klein drops back feels the pressure and moves up in the pocket and BOOM, look at that stiff arm he uses to “shuck” off Alabama LB Nico Johnson, That’s impressive!….

And the kick is up, and good. The wildcats have answered Alabama’s opening scoring drive with something they have been doing all year, a 10 play 9:45 second drive capped off Klein’s 25 yard pass to Tyler Lockett. We are at the end of the first quarter here in New Orleans and the scrappy upstarts from Kansas are hanging right with the powerhouse Crimson Tide. Kansas State 7, Alabama 7.

I don’t know how to explain what we have seen here in the first half Brent, maybe it’s a little New Orleans VooDoo going on!!! Kansas State, despite being out gained 275 to 135 actually leads Alabama 14-13! The key so far has been their “Bend but don’t break” defense and their knack for big plays. ESPECIALLY in the Special Teams, Tyler Lockett’s 69 yard punt return for a touchdown with 1:30 left in the half has really given this team a lift, Just look at the excitement as they leave the field! They think they can win!

Well Kirk I’ll tell you who has impressed me, #4 Arthur Brown and #2 Tysyn Hartman.  Brown’s big hit early in the second quarter on Trent Richardson knocked the ball loose and MAY have knocked him out for the game, he seemed a little woosey getting up and hasn’t seen the field since. Hartman had a big pick in the redzone midway through the quarter that stopped a sure Alabama scoring chance.

Lets send this back to the studio for an update on how the fans in Manhattan KS reacted to that punt return by Lockett!
