suddenly all become 79 years old when they start talking about all time records, or that the last 20 years really don't count.

But lets roll back the clock.

Lets start with the Gov's Cup given away every year since 1969 in the "Sunflower Showdown":

K-State 22  KU 19  Ties 1

That's FORTY TWO YEARS

KU's longest winning streak during the short time frame of FORTY TWO YEARS is 5 games.    K-State longest winning streak during the extremely short time frame of FORTY TWO YEARS is 11 games.

yeah, we've dominated ku football in the modern era. however, that 4/5 streak under mangino was pretty brutal.

Against Missouri, lets roll back the clock to 1970, a mere 41 years.

MU 22 KSU 18 Ties 1

Again, I know that most MU fans were shining Don Faurot's cleats, and that the last 20 years really don't count.  But K-State has held their own against MU for 41 years.

Sure it was brutal, because it was done in era when K-State (as well as most D1 schools) was really trying in football, not playing in an 18,000 seat stadium with a $450 recruiting budget, or with a temporary press box that was in place for 35 years.   So under those circumstance, a losing streak like that is extremely hard to take.

Sqwawk fans give more a damn about games played with leather helmets than this season.

$450 recruiting budget?  eff.  Seems like you'd spend that on your long distance bill.
