Interesting that he's transferring to a juco. The guy spent 1 yr at juco, and 1 yr at k-state. I don't think I have ever heard of that. EKU must have been full.

If his goal is to play at the D1 level then it is in his best interest to play at juco next year rather than sit out 2 years in a row while losing a year of eligibility.

He has 3 years of eligibility left, but if he transfers to another D1 school he will have to sit out a year. He's better off playing a year at juco and then enrolling in January at whatever D1 school he wants to attend.
