chad may was so great.  without may there would be no snyder.  he defined the college game for the better part of a decade.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

We are almost to the point that nobody knows/cares about bishop either
oh bullshit.

Kids we are recruiting were tiny little stud babies when he played.

i know it's unfair to josh, but he's had a very frustrating career in both college and the pros, and tho he's the best pure qb to ever be at k-state, he hasn't really done anything to brag about.  ya chad may is old, but at least he had a pretty great stay at kansas state, and getting heisman votes is still impressive, especially as just a little blurb on a postcard

I think one would have an argument here with both Steve Grogan and Lynn Dickey, but I'm not saying they should be on the postcard either.

Anyway, it should have been freeman, klein, dsams, and sproles, because everybody likes sproles.

How would you rate jordy's college career seven?

it's frustrating that we didn't win more with him, but i think a fantastic pro career has kind of shined him up a little.  (there's also that small difference in how much of a difference a wr makes on a game vs the qb)

if it was up to me, i would have had him on there with "first round pick" or something as his blurb, but i also understand why they would leave him off with all the weird crap that surrounded him last year.

in the end, it really doesn't make a difference either way

*added*
my point about chad may stands exactly because people don't know who he was.  you can shorten his existence to getting some votes 20 years ago and that looks pretty good on a postcard with 2 other vote getting qb's

Freeman probably should be included in a recruiting mailer like that, but I don't think this staff is going to use him because he's from Prince. Meh.

Delton may have heard of some of those guys because he's been to games and has lived in Kansas for a while, but overall I don't think most recruits know any of those guys besides maybe Klein because he got plenty of air time and was a Heisman contender. Even Freeman is pretty distant and his NFL career has been pretty mediocre outside of one season (though at least he has an NFL career). Either way a recruit is still going to like being listed with great players from a school and a written note from the coach.

Exactly what's the point of arguing who should be on it? All the recruit is going to see is their own picture

ok, but you can throw "heisman runner up" after his name and he played when our recruits were alive.

Yeah I'm fine with bishop for maybe another year or two. But more of these kids know freeman than bishop

why would you not showcase that you've had 3 heisman "contenders" (4 if you want to include non-qb's) over the last 20 years?  the purpose of this card was just to say "hey alex, look at the tradition you'll be stepping into, and hopefully surpass"

by not listing freemaw the recruit says to himself "wow, that is a lot of highly accomplished studs and they didn't even list nfl starter josh freemaw." of course the 17 year old knows about freeman, he might not know about the great qbs that preceded him.
