K-State finished with the #15 or #16 offense in the country, depending on which advanced metric you choose. You can see those here and here.

FEI measures explosive drives, methodical drives, and value drives. K-State finished #17, #19, and #19 in those three catergories. (again, read what that means on the above websites)

I won't argue that Waters had his share of struggles early in the season, but if you want to believe a below average quarterback played nearly 70% of the snaps this season and his team ended with those numbers feel free.

Too bad those numbers just weren't good enough to finish better than 5th in a conference with only 6 bowl-eligible teams or even beat an FCS school at home.
