Quote
Think about it, Kansas. Because the second-best fit after an improbable but smart reunion in Lawrence is Mangino taking over for his mentor in Manhattan.

Once LHC Bill Snyder believes he's found the right man for the job, it would make sense the transition to begin.

LHC Bill Snyder is a very, very smart man. His Kansas State team is 6-0 because Snyder understands sustained excellence in a way few do. If he hasn't already looked long and hard at Mangino as his replacement, odds are he will soon enough.

WOULD TAKE

Would be interesting to see where he goes with his "I helped build this place, now I'm gonna tear it down" quote.

Yeah, but the perennial 6-6 seasons would not be epic.

We could still wear those shirts if we hired Mangino.

Totally unrelated to this...

A friend of mine (that's a KU grad) at work knows all kinds of athletes at KU.  I don't know how, but he does.  Anyway, he texts me last night and says, "I have it on good authority KSU is seriously considering hiring Mangino.  Thoughts?"

I ask him about it this morning, and he says, "I just heard from my friend, a former KU player, that KSU is having very real discussions about hiring Mangino."  I then kind of blow it off, and he says, "Do you know who Mike Smith is?"  I say, "Yeah, he's our WR coach."  The then says, "My friend talked to him, and Mike Smith said there's a very real chance Mangino will be on the KSU sideline next season."

So, yeah, take it for what it's worth.

If Snyder were looking for his replacement, Jim Leavitt would already be on our staff instead of kicking ass with the 49ers.

If Mangino comes back it's not as HCIW.

My thought when he told me was that Bill would try to use Mangino to help prop up Sean.

I love how everyone that writes an article about Mangino fails to mention he went 1-7 in conference his final year.

Would be interesting to see where he goes with his "I helped build this place, now I'm gonna tear it down" quote.

This. He's a traitor to EMAW.

Don't want.

Just think about the KU quotes he would have if on our staff.

Also, Mangino doesn't strike me as a guy who would be used to prop anyone up.  Don't think he would be ok with being a bad ass O coord and AHC while letting someone's Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) offspring take credit.
