Totally unrelated to this...

A friend of mine (that's a KU grad) at work knows all kinds of athletes at KU. I don't know how, but he does. Anyway, he texts me last night and says, "I have it on good authority KSU is seriously considering hiring Mangino. Thoughts?"

I ask him about it this morning, and he says, "I just heard from my friend, a former KU player, that KSU is having very real discussions about hiring Mangino." I then kind of blow it off, and he says, "Do you know who Mike Smith is?" I say, "Yeah, he's our WR coach." The then says, "My friend talked to him, and Mike Smith said there's a very real chance Mangino will be on the KSU sideline next season."

So, yeah, take it for what it's worth.

If Snyder were looking for his replacement, Jim Leavitt would already be on our staff instead of kicking ass with the 49ers.

If Mangino comes back it's not as HCIW.

I could def see him adding mangino back to staff, but I couldn't seeing Mangino taking over.

Also, Mangino doesn't strike me as a guy who would be used to prop anyone up. Don't think he would be ok with being a bad ass O coord and AHC while letting someone's Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) offspring take credit.
