The easy road wins have not seemed real, or rather, my enjoyment of them has been wildly inappropriate. 

With college hoops it is much more difficult to figure out the appropriate scale of joy for accomplishments when compared to the win or die mentality of football. 

Also, the walk from the octagon to the car is not nearly satisfying enough, football/tailgating is just insanely well paced for maximum enjoyment of a win, particularly a big home win.  B-ball is mostly ill-prepared for this sort of thing (mid week, sunday, monday, cold outside).

I feel as though, I'm a businessman who's been overseeing a highly successful project in Hong Kong and has opened the door to the end of the year bonus/promotion party, but I don't speak the language fluently and am relying on stereotypes as cues on how to act.

I would agree with that.  We'll be 5 tomorrow.  A win over uk would I believe put us over Duke in a lot of voters minds and pass them regardless of what they do.  The squawks, cuse, and kentucky would all have 3 losses.  The 4 loss teams would be us, Duke, and purdue along with BYU, Butler and New Mex.  The last 3 won't get it.  Purdue likely won't when they're down a starter.  It would be a toss up between us and Duke.  Now, does the committe want the upstart cinderella as a 1 or the tarditional power? We'd be higher ranked, but I think Duke would still have the rpi edge.   It would really come down to how the two teams performed in their conference tourneys.  

Bottom line, lose to ku and its moot most likely.

Doug is a huge part of the EMAW resurgence.  Also remember that Gottlieb's alma mater was much like KSU they were good for a long time then were absolute crap for about 20 years until Eddie Sutton came along.  A lot like KSU really.....having a run like Eddie Sutton's with Frank would be nice as well.

This. I don't know why people continue to care what he says or puts out in his "bracketology." When he mysteriously put Arkansas (?) into the bracket out of nowhere, 20 minutes before the selection show last year, that should have ended any debate about him just being some douche with a mole on the committee.
