Which of these is better?

http://www.amazon.com/RT-AC66U-Dual-Band-Wireless-AC1750-Gigabit-Router/dp/B008ABOJKS

http://www.amazon.com/Linksys-EA6500-Dual-Band-Router-Gigabit/dp/B008I21EA2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1365817067&sr=8-1&keywords=linksys+ac

a poltical moderate, non-libertarian once told me to buy linksys routers, because that's what saul likes.  i followed that advice, and as far as i know, it was good advice.

Should have bought the Asus.  Linksys has been in the shitter since Cisco ruined them.  They seem to be getting better, but Asus has had great reviews.

alright, my turn.

just got internets (20 Mbps max) from TWC. the router/modem combo they gave me sucks ass. im very capable of going to best buy and asking that geeky dude to give me one but i bet theres something better on the web out there. looking to spend around $100 max.
I think what my friend Mitch is trying to say is that true love is blind.

I have a very old router and I think it messes up my wireless printer. And sometimes there are weird disconnects. What should I buy to replace it? Keep in mind I have a pretty small house and most of the internetting is done in the same room as the router (or very close to it).

I replaced an older Linksys with this last fall.

https://www.netgear.com/home/products/networking/wifi-routers/R7000.aspx

It's in their midrange.  I've been pleased.   We do streaming (1 Roku, 1 Chromecast, 1 SmartTV), 2 Laptops, an Ipad, and an Apple Desktop, plus Wi-Fi calling on our cellphones, as well as 2 HP wireless printers.   No issues, no disconnects, easy setup.

Can you just do a router/modem combo? I had a small (650 sqft) apt in Topeka and the one I got from cox worked just fine. I had 5ghz all the way to the parking lot as well.

Im not up on all of the technology. I'm sure someone else can answer it better as far as the quality. Had it for a year. Never had an issue. Would save on space/etc. Just a point to ponder. Good luck.

If you get one from your cable provider then you pay probably $20 a month for the privilege.  Just buy the exact same one and save the money.

I got a google onhub wireless router and my speed tripled (my old one was probably 5 years old).  I think google has already moved on to those pucks though.  I just get whatever modem the internet company recommends.

You are correct. I just searched for xfinitycompatible modem/routers. Came up with a fair amount of results. Wish I knew more.
