The view from the parking lot moved indoor this week. The weather seemed foreboding as I assessed the situation with my meteorological canine companion Scrappy. At this point I still had the best of intentions to plop down in a folding chair, among my people in the fields of meat goat. However, I just couldn't be bothered to make it out this week.
I did a little tooling around the kitchen. I paired an extra rare bone-in filet with an austrialian cab. I halfheartedly checked the wildcats progress on score mobile. Did not feel the need to check in much after the defensive TD. Seems like we may just have a D capable of keeping us in a few games. We shall find out soon enough I suppose.
"We're 2-0," jtucksu squeals. Well, yes, technically some competition has taken place. However, Miami is our first game against competition worthy of comment by those of us in the cheapest of the cheapies. At this point, anyone willing to sacrifice any investment in this team is a saint or a sucker. Any progress represents another step in to the quicksand of LHC Bill Snyder Family Football, any loss further confirmation that there must be change. This self-fulfilling prophecy is not my work, it is the work of Jon Wefald, Robert Krause and Fitz/Vanier depending on which version of the Snyder comeback you subscribe to. The facts are immaterial to the conclusion that we are on a collision course with few positive outcomes. Conference Armageddon is a fitting setting for the repeated displays of hubris by our leaders and fans.
What does the future hold? Well in the short-term, losses is what I'd expect. With 2 under the belt and Miami looming, let's get down to biz:

28-21I cannot fathom this offense being productive against the majority of the competition that they are scheduled to face. I expect we will see at least one other quarterback this season. I expect that there will be a hilariously K-State0 backlash against whichever quarterback unseats Klein and is similarly unsuccessful, with a variety of excuses proffered as to why this is. I expect that the defense will be lauded as much improved (which it will be) and that any criticism of the offense will center around an "outmanned" offensive line and that no criticism will make its way up the chain of command to LHC Bill Snyder. Remember, this people take it as an article of faith that LHC Bill Snyder is the greatest football coach of all time, that he is the sole person capable of winning at Kansas State Universtiy, and that he is the most virtuous and hardworking person eligible for the job. Any empirical evidence to the contrary must be explained away. The vile logic must be defeated, the non-believers purged with ever greater faith and dedication to the one man, program second.
I hope these fools are exposed not for any personal comfort, not with any true joy. But for the salvation of some semblance of a future that can be believed in. For some small glimmer of hope for tomorrow. So that I do not have to explain to my progeny the DoD to a reception of
.
Well, anyway, that was just the view from the parking lot.
