66-24? Holy shat. Barkley was right. Turner Gil should've got Auburn job. Far better than Chizik.

He must not have seen Chizik's Iowa State teams.  And he must not have noticed the 624 yards that Chizik's defense gave up to Clemson today.

It's really hard to buy new players when the NCAA is breathing down your neck.

Yeah easily Whitlock's dumbest talking point.  At the time of hire everyone, including white people at Auburn hated the Chizik hire.  Jason needs to realize the people he is pandering to with talking points like that will always view him as a fat black race-baiter no matter how many Imus' and lacrosse players he defends.

...."yeah, they schemed us.  We knew what they were doing and just didn't make any adjustments to fix it.  We thought that if we adjusted we would open up a pandora's box of other problems so we just stuck with the plan."

GA Tech: 604 yds on 50 rushes. The 12.1 yds per rush is the highest for a game in NCAA history. Previous: 11.9 by Alabama vs VA Tech in 1973

 :horrorsurprise:

Beems? Care to explain this?  :dunno:

Our defensive coordinator makes Cosh look like Mike Ditka.

Ditka was a Tight End.  Buddy Ryan was the brains behind the Bears' D.  So you make a good point.  Cosh is a moron coaching the wrong side of the ball, most likely.

Yeah, 52-21 to 10-17 was all about talent.

I don't remember what Whitlock said at the time of the Chizik hire, but pointing out Gill's shortcomings to this point is completely fair, especially as a dig on Barkley after his equally fat black race-baiting comments that "race was the No. 1 factor" and his humorously symmetrical suggestion that Auburn should have hired Gill BECAUSE he was black ("it would have created a buzz").

Besides, I'm pretty sure Whitlock joyfully embraces his income-producing image as a fat black race-baiter.

I like how beems is touting kans' RB recruits.  if its one thing they need, its more RB's.  what a completely mismanaged program.  don't they have like 6 decent rb's already?  shouldn't they be moving some of those athletes to defense?

KU doesn't need DB's when we can RB teams' faces off.  Everyone knows the best defense is a long, sustained offense with 18 running backs sharing the load.  Actually, we should convert more CB's to RB's so we can get more W's.

Not to mention the fact they averaged under 4.0 YPC against a Georgia Tech defense that allowed Mid Tenn St to rush for 5.0+ YPC against them.

And yeah, when you give up an NCAA record 12.1 YPC in one game there really is nothing else that really should matter.

When GT busted off that 95 yard TD run on the first play, it really was something straight out of the days when bad ku and K-State teams would face OU and NU's wishbone and Power I running game.

The difference was the ku and K-State defenses had guys out there trying to do the right things to stop them, last Saturday ku had nothing even resembling a defense that was set up to stop that kind of attack.

Do you really want your coaches admitting stuff like this?

Quote
Inside their locker room, the Jayhawks are trying to keep it together. That starts with the coaches, and KU defensive coordinator Vic Shealy knew that in the moments after the game.

Shealy pulled his defense together and told his players what they already knew: He had been outmaneuvered by Georgia Tech head coach Paul Johnson. With a young team, it was important for Shealy to shoulder all of the blame for this one. KU came with a game plan that was too similar to what worked last year, and a few new wrinkles by Georgia Tech rendered the Jayhawks basically useless.

“They kind of knew what we were about to do, honestly,” Patmon said.

Shealy, in his first year as defensive coordinator, showed plenty of guts by facing questions from reporters for about 15 minutes after the game.

“Ultimately,” Shealy said, “whenever your plan gets schemed, it comes back to me. What happened today is on Vic Shealy. I take responsibility for it.”
