I wanted to be a sports commentator, when I was little I would even commentate my own pick up games in the driveway. My imaginary partner commentator was always named Bill.

Raquetcat: There goes raquetcat with a nice powermove to the hoop, and the layup's good, whaddya think about that Bill?!?!
Bill: Raquetcat is really showing some promise here in his first year playing for K-State! Oh did you see that? raquetcat just rejected raquetcat's little bro!
Raquetcat: Oh Bill what a play!

Then I realized most sports commentators were former jocks, coaches, or Gus Johnson.
I'm purple down

Professional fisherman. I used to watch the fishing shows on ESPN on Saturday mornings. My friends and I used to be taken out and dropped off at farm ponds for the afternoon. I still remember the Jimmy Houston jingle:

Been fishin' all day and the sun's gettin' low,
Caught me a big 'un, but I let 'em go...
I just liked, watching him stretch my line...
dum.. dum.. dum...
Well, I made me a lifetime memory,
Out here fishing, Jimmy Houston and me,
Jimmy, we'll have to go again, sometime...

When I was very young and before I understood the concept of working for companies, I wanted to be a gas station attendant because I was under the impression that the job involved having a never-ending stream of people handing you $10 and that it became the attendant's money.

Eventually, lawyer.

Yeah, but what if you owned the gas station and your own refinery.  Endless piles of $10 bills my man.

Yeah, I also didn't understand the concept of expenses at the time.  Of course, it's probably still a lucrative dream now that it costs considerably more than $10 to fill up the tank.

I always wanted to be a crane operator.  In particular, I wanted to tear down buildings with a wrecking ball.

When I was in kindergarten, our town opened a brand new elementary school.  So I spent about half of that school year in the old building before we moved to the new one.  Then the following summer I got to watch a crane w/ wrecking ball totally demolish the school.  Very cool stuff.

I was perilously close to becoming a lit professor. Hung on to that one a bit too long.
"How will I recruit to Manhattan? Well, distance. And the proud state of basketball. It start there, and then daily flights to Dallas, because I'm really good at going out. Like top five good. Ask my wife. She wants me to be happy."
