I have both a brother and a sister who were adopted. One from Russia and one from Vietnam. If you have any questions, PM me or something. One went really well... one was kind of a bad deal.  :frown: I was in my teens when we adopted them btw

Consider this: perhaps we are who we are raised to be not necessarily just who we are born to be.  If this is the case, you possibly will create the same kid, through parenting, regardless if the kid is born to you or adopted.

If you adopt an african-american baby boy, you will have a 10% chance that they will become a pro athlete and then you'll be in the money (assuming he loves you). So I would give serious thought to going that route.

Don't know about the process, but I do have a few adopted cousins. Really good people, as much of a part of our family as anyone that was born into our family.

Do foster kids instead, you get paid $$$ and if you don't like them you can get rid of them.

I have some experience with the adoption process and have done academic research in the field.  PM if you have any questions.  The terrain can be difficult to negotiate but also well worth it.

I have experience dealing with people that have some experience with the adoption process. They are never trust worthy.

Yes, and my experiences as an adoptive parent have included a range between awful and helpful.

I really like the idea of adopting.

Maybe I'll do it someday.

Do you want to adopt at birth or adopt foster kids? Completely different process.

Would prefer to adopt bushman baby once they've had some training in tracking wounded game animals.

Assuming that means foster kids, there is a lot of paperwork/legal things to do, that sometimes fall through. The other thing you have to think about is that a lot of the times their parents (or a close family member) is trying to get their kids back, even if their rights have been terminated. It takes a lot of patience, and things often fall through. Also, the SRS can be really disorganized and difficult to work with.

Seriously, I want a bushman baby.  No exaggeration.  That's what I want.  At birth, fine.  A few years old, okay.  Whichever.

Then find an adoption agency and go from there  :dunno:

My cousin adopted an Indian baby.  Cute kid, acts/behaves pretty much exactly like her adopted cousin of the same age.  But you should totally adopt some 14 yr old African kid who is like 6'5" and  that his soccer skills somehow translate to football or basketball.

I don't feel like anyone that posts here should be adopting anytime soon.  Maybe wait a little while.

I have some experience with the adoption process and have done academic research in the field.  PM if you have any questions.  The terrain can be difficult to negotiate but also well worth it.

I'll tell you what else is difficult to negotiate....the purchase of babies, especially the white ones.

I'd maybe, MAYBE, pay that for a Japanese one.  No f'ing way I pay that for some Russian crack whore baby.
