This is where I am going this weekend, but in truth much more for the beer than the music.

probably more hippy than blue-grass... but I like this version of "Oh Death" and there will probably never be a closer suited thread to sharing this:

He's got a good sound but solo banjo is kinda weird.

Sounds elite. Would attend if there was something similar near me.

This is probably my favorite Trampled by Turtles song.

I'm also fond of the below contribution by the Fast Food Junkies out of McPherson, KS.  Pretty popular group down at Winfield.  They play with that "Stage Five Sound" that Split Lip Rayfield popularized.  I dig 'em.

Enjoyed that song

Fast Food Junkies

It's like you are the squack version of me.

If you end up making it out to Winfield check out "Tragic Prelude" at the fine time camp stage. They are buddies of mine and I recorded their last CD.

One of their songs -

These d00dz just played in Abilene.  Not bluegrass, per say, but they are close on certain tunes.  This one really does it for me.

Dude........

My friend just messaged me from the fine time stage.  He sent me a picture of the lineup for tonight and I saw Tragic Prelude on there.  Awesome.  I'll have to PM you about recording stuff.  I'll send you some youtubes of the group I'm in.  We're looking to record something soon.

Yeah I live there now.  Can vouch for its eliteness/size ratio.  10 local breweries in a town a little smaller than Topeka.  Very active music scene, esp. bluegrass etc.  Lots of outdoor activities, like whitewater, mountain biking, hiking, etc.

It's not a bad event but I can't listen to Bluegrass for longer than like 25min though.

Doc Watson is a God btw.
Fifteen minutes later, when the Kansas locker room opened its doors to the media, the Jayhawks were still crying. Literally, bawling. All of them. I've never seen anything like it, and I've seen devastated college locker rooms -- after losses in the Final Four, the national championship game -- ever

Everything there is very folky, but I like it.

That's cool.  Make sure it's an elite song, though.  Thanks, bruh.

If you like the more traditional blue grass stuff, there's a great show on PBS right now.
