Haven't watched a baseball game in about 20 years. Boring as eff to me. Have never watched a golfing or NASCAR event.

I watch much less pro sports since moving to the east coast. The times are just deal breakers for me.

The NFL is like summer blockbuster movies, chart-topping nu-metal and rock music, chain restaurants and the wwe.  There is a reason a lot of people like these things.  I'm not saying that all NFL fans are like this, far from it.  But NFL football definitely draws the lowest common denominator as far as US sports fans go.

I disagree. It has more total mouthbreathers, but that's because 1) it has millions more fans and 2) baseball fans are mostly "traditionalist" journalists still mad that newspapers are dying and 80 year old men keeping score of E3s at home whose loneliness saddens me.

MLB is the opposite of every other sporting event I follow.  being a Royals fan i only follow the first 4-6 weeks of the season.  any other sport i'm not that dedicated to i'd only watch the last 4-6 weeks of the season.

Also, having a business model that's similar to indie films is pretty much suicidal for something that used to be "America's pastime". It's why the sport is becoming increasingly irrelevant.
