Yeah, pretty much desert on this side, rain forest on the other. (and hipster per capita probably trends along with rainfall totals.)

Just saw Adam Craig at the airport, weird because I had just read this a few hours ago.  :frown:

Oh man that is sad.  Hopefully he was knocked out and didn't feel it.  Its good that the race got it right with their reaction to shut things down and had a memorial ride (those are always so sad :( been to 1) I know someone that is headed to that area next week too.  I can't imagine doing those kinds of enduros, but I always watch that kind of stuff on pink bike and I'm always amazed at their skills and huge balls.

Pete - after training at altitude, you will kick ass when you get back to Kansas.

It's been hard work for sure, but the scenery is so much fun that it sort of tricks me into forgetting about my aching legs.

Thanks man.  I am pretty excited about it.  Should be some pretty awesome riding in general...the mountain intimidates me a little bit but I think as long as I watch my HR and keep from blowing up I should be able to make it.

Give me a follow on Strava.

Nice. Hiked yesterday, rode this afternoon. 72 degrees and sunny with no wind at all. Perfect.

did some pretty hefty damage to my bike on July 4th.  Took me a couple weeks to justify spending the money to fix it considering how much money I've already spent on this hobby this year.  By the time I fixed it, we were well into triple digit temps and I have not been back on since.  Highs in the 80's from Thursday on so I plan on getting back in the saddle this weekend.

Not looking forward to regaining lost ground though.
