Pre-Game Routine
« on: September 01, 2011, 11:16:34 AM »
What do you do before the game?  When do you enter the stadium?  What concessions do you get?

I usually enter about 30-45 minutes before kick off unless there is something fun going on outside the stadium.  I buy a bottle of water.  Around halftime I get a slice of pizza or a hot dog and another bottle of water.  I have this exact concession routine every game.

also get a bottle of water, but instead of waiting until halftime, i grab a bag of the purple and white popcorn, eat about half, and then throw the rest under my seat thinking that i'll eat the rest later (never do)

unless it's a "nail-biter," i normally leave my seat with about 5 minutes left in the half and go drop the kids off at the pool.  gotta beat the crowd.

I bring in my own water that I bought from "Dara's Fast Lane", and then enter 1 hour before gametime. Slightly before halftime (unless there is something crucial happening) I will get a purple gatorade and a pretzel. Then I sit down and enjoy my drink and pretzel (no cheese, sometimes will get mustard) while I take in some POWL.
Where did you get that overnight bag?

Yes, the popcorn is delicious at first but gets old, quick.

Agree w/ your leaving slightly before halftime strategy...gotta beat the rush!

I'm more of a free spirit and just do what I want when I want and that is always variable.

If it's a real "scorcher" I bring in ~10 water bottles by handing them to 10 students in line and then collect them when we all get through security. I then hand them out to my friends that have been waiting inside for two hours.

I am thinking of mixing it up a bit this year.  maybe go for a nacho with tons of japs.  The weird thing is I order the most bizzare stupid thing on the menu at basketball games.  at the NCAA tourney NT game I got some weird philly cheese steak fries thing that was a pain in the ass to eat.  then cole manbeck came and talked to us while I was attempting to eat it.  was very challenging.

All of you primarily disuss in-game activities.  Me?  I drink beer and tequila shots in the parking lot and do my damndest to make a fool of myself.  It's always entertaining (to me anyway).

Usually stop in Abilene for McDonald's breakfast...take my "shortcuts" through Manhattan to avoid the busy streets and roll into the East grass parking.  Don't tailgate, instead just grab our stuff and go line up for the NEZ.  When we get in, I claim our seats in the front row then walk up the West side steps to get a souvenir Dt. Pepsi, whatever drink the wife wants and a bag of purple popcorn.

didn't mention the pre and post game routine.

On the way to the game, we stop through Newton and eat at the Bread Basket for breakfast.   :fatty:

After the game, we normally hit up Cracker Barrel before heading home.

Start tailgate with friends who are usually in the Rec parking lot. Drink beer, a few sips of vodka if it's warm, whiskey if it's cold. Wander into student tailgating, continue to drink. Go into stadium 15 minutes before kickoff. Maybe get a funnel cake at halftime.

Kinda a n00b question I'm sure, but there's gotta be a better way into Manhattan if you're coming from the west than the 303 exit off I-70, right?  Premium board?

Tailgate in west side parking lot before the game.  Usually go in right before kickoff.  Right before halftime, go back out to west side parking lot to drink a few more beers, and head back in usually right after halftime kickoff.

well...since i'm not an old fart and have icat, i can get silly all the way up until about 15-20 min before gametime. then halftime i go back out and have a few more, go back in for a quarter,  find my parents seats and hitch a ride with them to my house after the game. after four years, i pretty much have this down to a science.

I really wished sd's pregame routine involved crushing faces with his feet and fists in front of the Ernie Barrett statue.

Get to the parking lot about 4 gours before game time.  Drink plenty of natural light and vodka/sunny D, but not so much that you wont remember the game.  Head into the game about 20 min before kickoff depending on how big of a game it is.  Halftime, go back to the tailgate for another Natty and a cuople hot dogs.  Try to get back in before second half starts, cheer the cats to a victory then head back out to drink remaining beer if there is some left.  Aggieville.
