computer on the tv

In anticipation of watching a couple football games on the internet (prior to MOAP2 being salvaged), I've been messing with hooking up my laptop by HDMI cord to the TV.  I can get video on the tv, but sound stays on my computer.  That won't be good for paks.  Also, how do I make it so it fills the whole screen on the tv instead of being cropped a proportional amount on the sides, top and bottom.  Sony everything.

I just got some speakers that hooked up to the headphone jack in my computer to fix the sound problem. Not the best fix, but definitely the easiest. Don't remember what we did about getting a better full screen. Sorry, Trim.

I could get an audio cord to go from the computer to the stereo auxiliary jack, but I thought the HDMI cords were supposed to work for audio too.  They do on everything else.

HDMI carries video and audio, as well as HDCP identification. Monitors are 16:9 resolution while most laptops are 16:10.  So you should not have a problem filling the screen.  May have to go into settings on pc and change resolution.

Yes, could be broke.  Also you will have to adjust volume on both PC and monitor.  So if volume is all the way up on monitor, double check that it's not all the way down on PC.  Just like iPod to Auxillary input type of thing.

Do you have an audio link from TV to sound system?  A lot of systems get audio from the cable box and not the TV.

I rarely use the stereo system with the tv.  I've got HDMI running to the tv from the cable box, the PS3 and the blu-ray.  All of them make both audio and video come out of the tv.  I've got an audio cord running from the tv to the stereo so that I can kick on for extra sound for games/movies.

I've got it to work at the moment by using the HDMI for video into the tv, and using an audio cord with little headphone-type jack on one end and the split red and white bigger input things on the other running into the auxiliary on the stereo and getting my sound out of that.  I'll either need to get really long cords of each type or get a wireless keyboard so I can bbs simultaneously.

Or Captain Crap can make some things happen to where K-StateHD.TV plays on the PS3.

Not all computers (or OS's) support audio out through HDMI

If your computer supports it then make sure you check the correct audio out option in settings.

If none of this works, you can borrow my mac.

To fix it, I got a male-to-male (i.e. penis looking end of plug to penis looking end of plug) headphones cord and connected one side to the headphones output on the laptop an the other end to a hole on the back of my Plasma that said "PC In." 



The other suggestion in this thread about running the laptop male-to-male headphones cable to external speakers (like the ones I purchased at ChiCat birthday pak) would work for you as well.

I guess my Sony Windows 7 doesn't support HDMI sound.  Wouldn't know what settings to mess with even if it does.  Have found workaround, but you can bring your mac to the pak if you want.

I see that vagina hole on the back of my tv, but it's associated with the computer input (like the video input for a computer monitor) which I'm not going to eff with.  Connecting it to the stereo auxiliary jack and using my surround sound is working.  I missed ChiCat's pak.  Shouldn't have.  Go Cats.

I'm currently using a wire that has on one end the penis part of your top picture and on the other end the dual cocks from your bottom picture.  Only problem is that it's pretty short.  I'll either get a longer one, or get the extension thing that's in your first pic.  I have plenty of the 2nd pic if I do that.

Maybe a stupid question but when plugged in to the hdmi cable (Pc to tv) have you tried to click on the sound mixer icon and checking if there was a new 3rd or 4th slider for HDMI Out?
EDIT: also try Control panel>Hardware and sounds>Sound> Then on the playback tab see if there is more than one option (On mine there is Speakers and  Digital output)>If so click The Digital output one> Click through all the tabs and make sure all the settings seem correct.

By the way, great advice out of everyone here.  Even though there's a few extra wires than I planned, I will have KSTATEOHDTV on my big screen when needed.  This is the kind of instant help I knew goEMAW provided when I sent wildfratcountry here when she couldn't charge her computer.

Was there an option for digital output? If so you can try clicking it then clicking set default
A quick google tells me that if all the components are sony than when plugged an you should have a Sony tv option and you should set default that
