Either way UCLA doesn't get there - they won't have 5 wins. TCU & Tech though would certainly be hoping they have 5-win bowl spots. I don't think either gets to 6 without winning this weekend.

despite a lot of calls for the Armed Forces bowl by projectors, i don't think K-State will be the lowest Big 12 Bowl team. i think the Cactus Bowl will grab us, and i don't think we will get sent back to the Liberty Bowl nor will the Texas Bowl reach for us.

watching bowl projections and trying to take those projections and formulate my own prediction for the cats became a love of mine back in 2002 when my family decided we would be going to the K-State Bowl game.

if you don't want to play a Pac-12 or SEC team, the only real option, is the Armed Forces bowl. If we win out we could possibly still get into the Russel Athletic Bowl, and if we do that we are playing the top ACC school that isn't in a NY6 Bowl game. Otherwise it is SEC or Pac-12. We have no tie-ins that correspond with the big 10, or a lower tier ACC bowl.

Some tricky stuff would have to happen for us to play USC in a bowl game anymore. Remaining games vs Washington, UCLA, and Notre Dame. The two Big 12/Pac-12 Bowl games are the Cactus Bowl and Alamo Bowl. If USC wins out they could end up in the Alamo Bowl. If K-State wins out, it is highly unlikely K-State ends up in the Alamo Bowl, but there would still be a small chance. If USC loses out they could end up in the Cactus Bowl, but it is looking like their floor would be the Vegas Bowl. All in all i would say there is less than a 5% chance we end up playing USC in a bowl game.

As things stand now, i would guess the Pac-12 representative for the Cactus Bowl would be Arizona State or Cal.

i've got a good buddy, he's an asu alum. 
he spends all day, everyday talking big time smack on the cats.  a sizable late december win against his devils would teach him a thing or two lol lol
