Yeah and we're saving points right now for our honey moon. Flights are crazy expensive as well. Oh well, it was a night thought.

Flights to Memphis from DFW are cheap... Although there are rumblings that the Motel 6 Bowl is s done deal, I'm really hoping that we end up in either Memphis or Dallas.

 :crossfingers:
Yes, I would prefer either of those! We could probably use a buddy pass to one of those spots.  :crossfingers:

I can think of no better scenario if we end up 5-7 than a date with the Huskers in the Dallas Bowl...

that would be great, but lets face it, we're getting our asses kicked in any bowl we go to.

While that may very well come to pass, having those 15 practices to build on skills and fundamentals would be a very positive thing for the young talent we have redshirting.

Yeah, I don't really care if we get our asses kicked. Just having something to look forward to is all I care about.

5-7 nebraska vs 5-7 K-state?

A good throwback game to the days of Callahan vs. Prince!  :billdance:

Someone here indicated Snyder prefers to use the practices to develop the younger players as opposed to strictly game planning the bowl opponent. If true, it kind of explains why we suck in bowl games but are fairly consistent from one year to the next (with a few obvious exceptions).

former players would say that they cram so much crap at them to prepare their heads are spinning on game day, thus the slow starts.

i think it has more to do with three weeks of full 2.5 hour padded practices.

I also think the IDGAF meter and match ups are big part of it as well. For instance, 98', face planting a chance to play in the title game = IDGAF. Cats playing Ohio State and Oregon in the Fiesta Bowl = Match up horror.

i don't really agree with the "match up" talking point, they were just better teams.

Well yeah, that's what I kinda met. Match ups = having to play way better competition.

It's probably that during a one week period, he is really good at game planning and scheming. But when both coaching staffs have weeks to prepare for a game, it's a wash and he is an average coach.

It seems like many times when Snyder & Co have extra time to prepare they over scheme. It seems like many times when there's a bye week or bowl game, they come out with a gameplan completely opposite what they would normally do. Kind of a "they think we'll do this, so we'll do this. But they'll think we'll do that because they'll think we'll think they'll think we'll do this, so we better do this instead."

Of course they've done that already most of the season, so who knows.

You guys are overreaching on why Snyder is supposedly so bad in bowl games. Bowl games, for the most part, achieves their goal of matching two equal teams. All but two of our bowl losses, second Syracuse and Oregon, were one possession losses in what amounts to coin flip games.
