So are you guys ready to accept a 6-6 season just so we can play a super pud in the Cactus Bowl? I want to know what the gE narrative is this year and be on the same page.
Let's look at it this way.
Keep in mind if we get a team into the playoff we bump up a bowl game. I think that is most likely, but considering I am a pessimist, here are our bowl pairings if no BIGXII team makes the playoff.
BIG XII #3:KSU 10-2 (7-2) -
So to be 3rd. . .we beat everyone but Baylor and TCU. (Russel Athletic vs ACC #2)
Preaseason picks have ACC #2 mostly likely to be Florida State, Clemson, or Louisville.
BIG XII #4:KSU 9-3 (6-3) -
To be 4th. . .we lose to Baylor, TCU, and one out of : OU, OSU, UT, WVU, TTU, ISU, and KU. . . which is doable. (Autozone Liberty Bowl vs SEC #3-#8)
Preaseason picks would have us paired up with one of Auburn, LSU, Florida, Ole Miss, Arkansas, or Tennessee.
BIG XII #5:KSU 8-4 (5-4) -
To be 5th. . . we lose to Baylor, TCU, and two out of : OU, OSU, UT, WVU, TTU, ISU, and KU. . . which is likely. (Cactus Bowl vs PAC 12 #6)
Preaseason picks would have us paired up with one of Washington, Cal, UCLA, or Arizona.
BIG XII #6:KSU 7-5 (4-5) -
To be 6th. . . we lose to Baylor, TCU, and three out of : OU, OSU, UT, WVU, TTU, ISU, and KU. . . which is worst case IMO. (AdvoCare V100 Texas Bowl vs. SEC #9 or #10)
Preaseason picks would have us paired up with either Mizzou, South Carolina, or Texas A&M.
BIG XII #7:KSU 6-6 (3-6) -
To be 7th we win our non-cons and beat KU, ISU, and one of TTU, WVU, UT, OSU, and OU. . . which I think is only achievable if we are much more atrocious than we appear. I think our defense alone could guarantee this record. (If Army isn't available - Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl vs. American Athletic Conference #5)
Preaseason picks would have us paired up with either Memphis, Temple, or UCF.
