Dax is confirmed:
« on: August 02, 2011, 03:01:52 PM »
I've said for a long time ku had one of the most bloated, top heavy athletic administrations in the Big 12 (if not the country).

Today, the LJWorld confirmed.   What will be a fascinating new read is the KU athletic financial report for the FY that just ended.   Others dissected last years ku athletic financial report and found (somewhat buried) that ku athletics owed various entities on campus millions of dollars.   Others have alluded to the fact that they're hearing that ku athletics STILL owes entities at ku (like parking services) millions of dollars.   I went through the NCAA financial disclosure that was in USA Today, and did the simple math that told me that for the last reported on academic year 2009-2010, that had ku athletics not received millions in student fees and institutional support, ku athletics would have been in the red.

To Lew Perkins!!   :drink:

Nothing a well timed bump won't fix.  You can't let the bait just sit at the bottom, sometimes you got jiggle it a bit.

Dax with a walk off!

Slow trot this.  You've earned it.

Yeah, he's in desperate need of validation right now so he's headed to the friendly confines of the phog so he can get back-up.

"When asked if he were comfortable with the number of six-figure salaries in the department, Zenger said KU was in the upper half of the Big 12 but “not at the tip of the spear.”

Being 2nd highest, technically, is not the "tip of the spear".  Being elite, Harvard of the Plains, and all, ku should spend that kind of money.

I can't tell you how much I love this, how much I love Beams and his deafening silence/delusions of grandeur, and how much I love the nickname Cheyenne Zulu.

Mods, can we get a Cheyenne Zulu emoticon?  Should probably include him wearing a Kazzu hat but doing a very bad job of fake-covering it with a Jayhawk or something.  Or could have him reading a will, and the only thing he inherits is "a shitshow."  But then again I'm just spitballin' here, you web designer guys just go with your gut and do what you do.  tia.

makes 13-1 even more impressive.  good job 13-1, good job.

also, good job to the employees who are fleecing the KUAD of their money in these tough times.  i definitely have my jealousy suit on.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

It cannot go without saying that K-State was at 20% administrative/coaches "cost" relative to total expenditures, not much lower than ku % wise.

But . . . even with institutional support/student fees (about half of ku's) taken out, K-State was still about $9 million in the black for 2009-2010.
