It's been too long since I've read a Dax money thread, so I'm willing to play the fool, educate me.
I don't know but I think the effects of cutting the Targeted Excellence program could be lessened by the new credit hour surcharge going directly to the school hosting the class.
My main concern is that he's cutting funding to sources of revenue, which I don't think is ever the best idea. I'll take your word that cutting 8 positions and $304,000 from the athletic department doesn't constitute a budget cut, but it seems like it would at least make it harder to sell tickets, etc. And isn't the point of National Institute for Strategic Technology Acquisition and Commercialization to bring in commercial funds, or was it just to get Wefald and his friends rich(er)?
