sweet, Bubba Chapman made it...
« on: July 11, 2011, 03:27:23 PM »
finished w/ JC and just got accepted.  Chapman is a probable starter at one of the corner spots.

Now the only JC yet to be cleared is Bo Tillman.  :crossfingers:

btw, somebody posted on GPC that Darious Thomas just enrolled in the second summer session and was in one his class today.  I can't see how he's still going to class on KSU's dime a year after he was declared ineligible if he isn't on the team or making his way back on it.

News seems to keep getting better this year.

Academics is a stupid word.

Academic schools are synonymous for being rich, powerful and exclusive, three things Kansas State is not.

So when people throw the word "academics" around, that's really what they are referencing.

Bubba as in Allen?

yes.  He is called Bubba.  I noticed Snyder him called him that, too, when he was referring to Malone as his teammate during one of his spring pressers.

I thought Malone was the one slotted as a starter at corner along with DThomas or Ratt.

Kinda figured Tremaine would handle the return duties?  Honestly, I'm not worried about that spot, we seem to always have someone good back there.

Would seem weird if we had good enough corners to keep Garrett off the field.  Guess he would make a nice nickleback though.

Kinda, not really, well, maybe a little bit.

Says he should be here Aug. 6 and only has one more test to take (biology).

Also says he is like working out really hard on his own. Really rough ridin' hard, lol.

Wallace said he is 6-6 and 278 lb.

Garrett will NOT be off the field.  What would be great is if Darious Thomas is back...he and Chapman would likely be the corners.  That would allow us to put Garrett at safety with Zimmerman.  Garrett is too valuable...the kid is a player and, at safety, he would bring some corner skills to the position.  You have to keep Garrett on the field in some capacity.

Damn, if Squeaks Wallace is reporting this we might as well carve this bitch in stone!

Welcome to the purple train, Mr. Tillman.   :emawkid:

Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008

At certain points last year, Garrett played the Wildcat hybrid position.

I like him.  He can do all kinds of things.  He's the surest tackler the defense has.

Seems like Garrett played gthe hybrid spot for quite a while last year.  I love the dude.  He tackles well and it seemed like he was always around the ball.  Not sure if his coverage skills are all that good though.  Plus, I kind of have Burns penciled in at that other safety spot.  :dunno:
