Surprised you mouth breathing hayseeds don't know about the actual story behind Ain't No Seats, considering your unhealthy obsession with all things KU athletics.  As legend has it, Sherron Collins showed up a few minutes late to one of his final exams, only to find out that the only seats left were located in rows at the front of the classroom.  In order to prevent cheating, the teacher made all of the students spread out and keep an empty seat between them as they took the test.  In a blatant act of defiance, Sherron went over to where the other athletes were sitting and sat in one of the empty seats next to them.  After that, Ain't No Seats was born.

Also, at the University of Kansas (an official AAU member international research institution), athletes are required to attend class.  As a KU alum who had multiple classes with athletes, I can tell you that there are academic supervisors who stand outside of the classroom every day and take attendance specifically for each athlete in that class.  If someone misses class, it's an automatic in-house punishment or suspension.  I had Darrell Stuckey, Kerry Meier, and several others in my Finance 305 class at Summerfield, and those guys were always in class.  Not sure how they do it at Little Ag School on the Prairie, but KU actually has integrity when it comes to things like that.

Yes there are, you fat-faced hayseed clown.  An academic supervisor stood outside the classroom at Summerfield every day before my Finance 305 class and took attendance of every athlete in that class.

It sounds like they don't do that at Butthurt State.

Every class I've ever taken with an athlete has had someone outside taking attendance.

They aren't posted outside of every KSU class either.  When you guys get into the non-remedial stuff you will find this out.

I've never taken a non-remedial with an athlete so you're probably right.

You're a rough ridin' idiot.  My sister (former KU athlete) took notes and quizzes and exams for KU basketball players (Darnell Jackson, Chalmers, and one other).  You know that guy in the wheelchair that's responsible for keeping them eligible?  His name is "Scooter."  And through no fault of his own (I personally believe him to be a genuinely nice and moral person), he's forced to cheat on behalf of KU basketball.  He goes through a LOT to keep them eligible.  Everything from making sure the smart non-men's-basketball athletes are on board to help him cheat, to personally driving to bball player's residences and laying on the horn to get them out of bed to go to class.

Furthermore, my sister got in trouble once for showing up to a chowder puff class.  Her coach told her not to go the first day, and she thought "well that can't be right," so she went, and then she got in trouble for going.  The idea being that now everyone in the class knew an athlete was in the class and might get suspicious if she was always gone.  The prof was in the AD's pocket just to write in A's.

I was simply going to LOL at the "in house punishment" line, but this is much more hilarious.  Especially the "scooter" part.  I mean, have a guy that cheats for you.  Have the guy be handicapped.  All fine and good, but to call some poor bastard in a wheel chair, that you are just using, a nickname like "scooter" is really funny.

I was GTA at KU for two years. Had 2 bball players "in" my class. I can personally verify that attendance was not required and reporting absences/cheating was not "encouraged".

I used to see athletes on campus all the time. This summer I walked past JHR in Cardwell nearly every day.

Listen, you emo hayseed clown.  I never once implied that athletes don't cheat.  All I pointed out was that KU athletes go to class.  Now go listen to some more of your shitty emo music and leave the BBS'ing up to men who don't have a thing for skin-tight jeans.

at k-state there were guys in the AD who would check in on athletes and their teachers to ensure the athlete's compliance with the attendance rules that the coach had.  they would pop into classes from time to time and check to see that the guys were in the room.

i'm guessing this didn't happen in Sorghum 450 and Macro-Tractorology 302 though, so a lot of you seeds might not be aware of this.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.
