Athletes are so bad at going to class thread

Let's hear your K-State version of Ain't No Seats.  Can be any sport.  I don't have one so I'll steal blowthewhisle's from another thread.

Deon Murphy once showed up during the 10th week of Geology lab (his first appearance) only to be astounded that he had been dropped from the class. A true  :kstatriot:

Sproles didn't need seats, he slept on the floor in the back.

When you have tutors who needs class.... Just sayin if the average college student can manage between a 2.0 and 3.0 goin to class say 50-75% of the time. Then why couldnt an athelete with a tutor and mandatory study time go less and still succeed?

plus lets face it as fans who cares if they go to class if they burn people like Sproles did..

Justin Montgomey was in my Geo101 lab in '03. Generally it's a freshman only class. Not for Justin though.

He was in my small group lab. He came in one time 20 minutes late. He sat down next to me, pulled out a magazine and did not look up once the entire class. Me and the other 2 did the work on an in-class project, and when I got up to turn it in at the end of class, Justin looked up from the magazine at me and goes, "Is my name on that?" I of course said yes. I was taking one for the team.

I knew him in college too.  He was kind of meat-heady but was actually pretty cool if you can get past the barbed wire tattoo.  His parents' house in Smith Center burned down.

Joe-Bob was in ENG345 Modern Poetry with me and the instructor didn't know that he was an athlete... he called his name 1st day of class "Joe *pause and look down at the list* Clements". Joe-Bob proceeded to play with the strings on the blinds, play with his watch and sleep the entire semester away - only to get a rough ridin' B in the class - conversely, I got a 70% and I rejoiced... it was a tough class.
We are K-State and we love to hire SHlTTY coaches.

Dom was in my stat class a couple years ago. Think he dropped it.

That said, this summer I've see Jamar and JHR on campus at least a couple times a week. Good to see our adorablemens are getting educated

Had Hoskins in my stats class, he attended frequently (by this I mean about 75% of the time, no more than I skipped) and seemed to pay attention well.

Spring semester 1994. Appreciation of Theatre.  Chad May and some skank sitting next to him stand up about 20 minutes into class, walk down the aisle and head out. The prof asks... "Uhh...where are you going?"  Chad, without turning around or looking at the prof just says... "I'm hungry!" and he and his skank were gone for the day.

Took calc over the summer and freems and mastrud were in the class. Freems showed up the first day wearing a wife beater and athletic shorts , this was in the middle of the "Freemans up to 260, no one will be able to tackle him" days. Saw him maybe 3 more times that summer even though class was everyday, no idea on the grade.

Fall Semester, MWF 8:05, College Algebra, Mike Beasley would come in, with his little Asian educational peon right behind him, promptly sit down and put his head on his desk.  Asian took all the notes and everything.  I probably skipped 20-35% of that class but Mikey was always there.

Hopefully Frank uses that as a recruiting tool.  "Yeah, you'll have to actually go to class but we'll give you your own asian person to do all the work for you."

Chad May was at a level of coolness that may never be surpassed. He's like our Jim McMahon.

Ryan Lilja asked to borrow my calculator in Accounting once.  I told him to keep it, and I got a new one.  He was there everyday... teacher's (TA's) pet too.

I know.  There's kind of an equal and opposite reaction to the MCMW thing, and it's that More Class=More Terrible Teams.  MCMTT?

I was a TA for a couple of semesters and I had two athletes in my lab classes during that time.  Both were girls (basketball and volleyball) and both were very smart (though the girl from Tennessee sounded like a hillbilly).  Meanwhile, I also had a dude that I saw running for office recently - I think he was the only one that actually failed my class.

My pops is a prof and he swears that estroballers are easily the best students of the athlete variety, possibly the entire student population.  Martin Gramatica, on the other hand, was not the best student of the athlete variety.
