Our starting LB unit will easily be the 3rd or 4th best group in the conference.

You had me until here, then I was like

Mizzou and Okie Lite both lost two starters in their LB unit.  Goodsen and Lewis are good, young players for their respective units but the others are unknown.  aTm isn't great at that position and just lost their top player with the 3rd pick in the draft.

ISU's Knott and Kline are good but I question whether they are NFL talents.

Tech is very average at that position.

The only two I can see that would be head and shoulders above our unit are OU and Texas.

Name the others please.

This is going to be a very good starting LB group for us.  Yes...top 4 in the conference, definitely.
Academics is a stupid word.

Academic schools are synonymous for being rich, powerful and exclusive, three things Kansas State is not.

So when people throw the word "academics" around, that's really what they are referencing.

Our LB's being coached by Chris Cosh automatically puts them no higher than 6th. Maybe 5th if AB goes into beast mode all year. It doesn't matter how solid of a player you are if you're always being put out of position by bad coaching schemes.

Edit: To answer your question, UT, OU, A&M, and ISU all have much better LB crews. OSU and MU are probably better as well, but those are more along the lines of a tossup. I do agree with you that KU being above us is a joke.

OU would destroy our lb's and put their remains in A. Box.

yes on OU and UT.  I think ISU's is better by virtue of experience and proven production.  Can you name one starting LB for aTm without going to their roster...if not then your reasoning for matter of factly stating "much better"?

Rumblings of Bryce looking incredible at the UC Pool today, will try to get better confirmation.  Scoops?
