This one has wipers in it!  :sdeek:

Wipers! Nice! I'm always kind of nervous about fishing on a pond with houses that back up to it. Used to fish this place all the time but havent fished it since high school

Went to bass pro on my lunch break and LOADED UP on some new jigs and bass baits.

Might sneak out of the office later this afternoon for 30 minutes to do some BUSINESS PARK POND fishing.

Hey ben ji...I'm going fishing this weekend and am looking to catch some catfish for a nice fish fry.  I usually use Bee'-Jays catfish bait, but am having troubles finding it this time of year.  It's been my mainstay for years.  Any other good stink bait you'd recommend?  I'm fishing in a small lake (dept is 8 to 10 feet).

I dont normally use stink baits so I dont know which ones are good.

I recommend bringing an ultra light pole and using a crappie jig or using worms to catch a couple of blue gills when you first get there. Then cut them up into small chunks(a little bigger than a quarter) to use as bait, the guts work best.

Thank you sir!  Not a bad idea.  I'll try that out!  A buddy of mine swears by chicken livers as bait so I will try those as well.  I'll let you know how it goes!

Chicken livers are my go to bait if I dont have enough time/feel like catching any blue gill. Best of luck and remember to come back to this thread and let us know how you did.

Ben ji, how do you catch fish over your lunch break and then not smell awful when you go back to work for the afternoon?

Here's my take on KS fishing:

Winter
Water is too cold
We get a crap ton of rain and the water is too high/off color
Then it's too rough ridin' hot
Football season
Winter again

Yep.  That is best case scenario.  Then you have to throw in kids not wanting to actually fish even though they say they do, soccer season, baseball/softball season, etc.

It is basically impossible to fish in KS if you hate humidity or have kids.

That is the slight problem with the Big 12's boss media contract that puts every game on tv.  An early fall afternoon on the lake listening to Wyatt & Stan paint the picture of the cats working over some MAC team is damn close to heaven.

Hey ben ji...had a nice weekend of fishing.  I caught 3 catfish that were perfect for a fish fry along with 2 really nice walleyes.  The chicken livers worked like a charm.  I ended up going with some stink bait to bring the fish in the area and the chicken liver was great.  I caught around 10 catfish Saturday afternoon and 3 of them were the ideal fish to filet (nice white bottom).  We shifted to a known walleye fishing spot near an island in the lake we were fishing and used minnows to catch the fish (just after sunset).  Within an hour we had 6 walleyes (we kept 2 that were fantastic).

I never usually have that much luck, but the warming temps really worked in my favor.

If any of you fishers wants to load up on some tackle/gear, let me know...I fished Bass Tournaments for years, sold my boat a couple seasons ago & haven't gone out much since.

Got shelves & shelves full of plastics (about a zillion Brush Hogs, good assortment of 7-10" worms, lots of Stanley Ribbits, and some 'rare' stuff like Maverick Bugly's), high end crankbaits (Lucky Craft, Mega Bass, etc), spinnerbaits, jigs (FB & Finesse), etc...may even part with some of my rods reels...I'll prolly hang on to my Revo's & Carrot Sticks, but most of the rest would be up for grabs I reckon.

Plastics & non premium lures I'll make you a deal on...Rods Reels, I'd sell cheaper than eBay to GE'ers if interested, just PM me (I live in NKC btw)
