Yup, down by peculiar. My buddy's dad has a farm pond down there and told us "If you catch any crappie either throw them out or take them with you"....Just finished cleaning about 25 and headed over to buddy's house to fry em up.

I would like fishing a lot more if I liked the taste of fish.  Catfish are particularly unpleasant to me. I don't like the "fishy" taste.  I do love Long John Silver's fried fish, however.

Learned how to river fish at rocky ford. Caught tons of wipers and catfish and an occasional crappie using minnows and a bobber. Would also use a yellow grub on a jig to catch wipers and walleye.

Fish about 50 yards downstream from the falls. Also fish from the west side, there is a hidden parking lot and a set of stairs that will take you down to the river.

The water is still a little too cold down here for the bass to be active yet. But in about a week, assuming it stays warm for a bit, it will be good times.

Been deep sea fishing twice, always had a great time.

Last time I went was last october in Cancun during a bachelor party. We got on the boat at 7am after pak'n until 3am the night before and it was a disaster.

The water was pretty choppy and once we got out in the ocean the group started dropping like flies from sea sickness. Out of the 10 people on the boat 7 of them spent the entire time puking over the side of the boat.

We rented the boat for 8 hrs but turned around after 4hrs due to the sea sickness.

Anyone ever fished any of the strip pits down by Pittsburg KS?

Going to a wedding in Independence KS at the end of April and plan on stopping by the stip pits wildlife area on the way home looking for some bass.
