Haven't been fishing much lately...busy with kids ball games. Did get permission on a couple of new watersheds, so excited to try those, unfortunately it's gonna get hot AF now.

dobberette caught 4. dobber caught 2. toddlerdobber had one out of the water but let up on the tension (he lowered the bamboo rod) and the fish went free.
It's an amazing place to catch lots of fish and get lots of city boy advice. Right in several of yours' backyards. It's Deanna Rose Park in OP.
BEST PART OF STORY ALERT:
We restocked our bucket of worms and dobber and dobberette each split a worm and dropped their lines in. Both missed and had their worms stollen so they went back to the bucket to get another. Toddlerdobber was trying to look innocent when they found the bucket empty. He then yelled, "THEY CAN SWIM!"

Gonna win 'em all!

We set ~10 bank lines. Find a solid branch that protrudes over the water, tie the string line on. Used live perch, slightly smaller than your palm, for bait. That was actually the 2nd cat of that size of the night. We didn't have a tape handy for measuring length, but for reference, both of us in the pic are 6' 2" plus change

We were in and out of the boat with giant splashing catfish and possible beer spillage. I don't remember pissing myself.

We were near Edwardsville.

I have very low catfish IQ. You're right, pro fisher guy, I do not make money fishing nor will I expend excess effort to catch them. The cat pictured was the 2nd of that size of the night. The first one we released. The second would not respond so he went with us. We tried.

Just giving you a little crap.Setting bank lines is fun to do every once in a while and can be hard work even from a boat.Nice fish and good that you returned the one you did.Big flatheads are pretty tasty too
