Guyz, the bass are up and moving!!! Went fishing at a local pond last week and saw some bass in the shallows....even though I only caught some tiny lil guys I was super pumped.
ALSO OMG GUESS WHAT?!?!? I discovered 2 old farm ponds that are now my personal domain.
I switched jobs a year ago and the my new job is out on the edge of the city. They bought a fuckton of land and only about half of it is developed, the rest won't be touched for another 5 years or so.....I was scoping out some of this untouched land on google maps and realized there were 2 ponds on it, the old satellite imagery showed a house in the middle of them that has since been demolished.
The only way to access these ponds is through our facility so literally no one else can fish it except people I work with. I went out there on monday to do some ground recon on both ponds....BINGO, caught bass in both!!! OMG AWESOME, my own personal fishing reserve!!!!
There is also a crick that runs through the untouched land where I caught some weird looking baby fish by dangling my grub in the water....My best guess is some sort of bass hybrid due to the shape of the mouth but the mouth was much lower than normal. There is also a faint black stripe going down it.
What kind of fish do you think this is?
