There's a FISH site on the way to Pott 2 where you can high bank the eff out of some carp. Really fun.

Went out on Thursday and caught around 10 bass in a couple hours.

At one point I had hooked a baby bass, maybe the size of my hand, he was flopping around near the shore when another BIGGER bass came up and tried to eat him.

The other bass wasn't that big and couldn't fit the baby bass in his mouth otherwise I would of reeled them both in!

Some pics below, nothing too big but it was fun and that is all that matters.

I dont know if I will be able to attend yet, but if I do come I will definitely be fishing at rocky ford on saturday morning.

Its downstream from the tubes, 39.238311,-96.586724. Fish swim up the blue river and cant get over the old weir/waterfall/dam thingy.

Spent 3 summers in manhattan while in school and would go a couple times a week and catch everything, walleye/wipers/whitebass/crappie/drum/bass/catfish etc etc. If it swam in the river I would catch it.

Rocky Ford Stories!

1. One summer I took Calc(With Josh Freeman and Jeron Mastrud) and it got out at 11. It also happens that the little bait shop by tuttle puddle opens at 11!!! A couple time a week I would pick up a sixer of blvd wheat and 2 dozen minnows then spend the afternoon out at rocky ford, just amazing times.

2. I went early one day around 8am and saw a dad and his kid walking up, each of them with 2 catfish over their shoulders. The dad had 2 that weighed around 40lbs each and his little 8 year old son was struggling with 2 20lb catfish under over his shoulders.

3. The best fishing is when they open the tubes up and flood the rocky ford fishing area. One day I caught like 20 walleye in 2 hours using a 4 inch grub on a 1/8 oz jig head.

Caught these an another like it. First one was about 20". I caught the big one and each of the kids caught one of the other two. Also caught a crazy amt of smallish bass and three huge hybrid bluegill.

I hit up a farm pond today with the intention of catching some crappie to filet.

Nothing but tiny crappie but I did catch some nice eater sized bass and decided to filet them up!

The guy im holding was attacked by a snapping turtle while on the stringer :-(

I ended up with some nice filets and some fertilizer for the garden.

Hopefully I will be chilling in the smoking/grilling thread tomorrow with these filets.

Nope. Friend has a nice size pond with swimming beach.
