I rarely get burned. Last time I had a bad one was when I worked on a concrete crew my freshman year  :surprised:

If you paid attention to the "Things that shouldnt freak you out but do thread" I have a sever dislike for sunscreen lotion, I dont mind the spray on stuff as much.

I laid down a solid base coat fishing shirtless a couple of weeks ago. I find that if you get a solid first burn, around 3-4 on the pain scale, you are pretty much golden the rest of the year unless you spend all day drinking on a boat. In that case I will suck it up and put on some spray on lotion, not sure on the SPF, its whatever someone else has on hand.

oooo and as for worst sunburn.

4th grade snorkeling in the Keys. I tricked my mom into thinking that I had put sunscreen on but I didnt! Went snorkeling for a couple hours and my back got toasted, probably a 7-8 on the pain scale, only time I have ever used Aloe as that freaks me out too(lotion).

Having a basal cell carcinoma removed on the 24th. Probably wear sunscreen any time I'll be out in the sun from now on.

Thanks. It's not a terribly big deal. I'm just happy it's not a melanoma.

Ok, I thought you'd never ask.  So this Canadian friend of mine is currently treating a person who bumped their head hard enough to knock them out.  As a result this person had a fleshy wound on top of their head... and it didn't go away... for ten years.  This person just put gauze on it and covered it up with a ball cap for ten years.

Slowly it grew and by the time my Canadian friend was aloud to check it out the fleshy wound pretty much covered half this person's head.  It had eroded the scalp and bone.  This person's brain is exposed like just hanging out of their head. You could see it pulsing with every beat of the heart.

After a quick test they found out basal cell was the culprit.  They could have saved their self some embarrassment, tons of  money and headaches if they would have just gotten some treatment early on.  It took 8 hrs of surgery, some govment plastic, and a huge skin graft from their lower back to fix it.
