Florida... where you can get away with murder (as long as it's not caught on video).

 :driving:

What damning evidence was there, really? Party photos?

Well, the fact that her mom was the one who reported her daughter missing (after 31 days) is pretty telling.  Then there's this:

Quote
Anthony moved out of her parents' house, abandoned her car and acted suspiciously for a month while the family tried to figure out what's going on. Her parents wanted her arrested for stealing the family car and taking thousands of dollars.

Caylee was officially listed as missing July 15, 2008, when Cindy Anthony complained to authorities she hadn't seen her granddaughter in a month. ABC News reports she also told a 9-1-1 dispatcher that "it smells like there's been a dead body in the damn car" when referring to the vehicle Casey Anthony stole.

The not guilty verdict what a shock to everyone, including the defense lawyers.

 :ck:

nothing you just said proves that casey anthony (hero) murdered her kid.

Here, maybe this will help:

Quote
University of Tennessee's "Body farm" discovered "hair banding", a phenomenon in which hair roots can form a dark band after death. A hair found in the trunk of the Anthony car exhibited this pattern.[51]  Also new is the work of University of Tennessee's Oak Ridge National Laboratory in which air extracted from the trunk of the Anthony car revealed human decomposition and the presence of chloroform.[51]

Quote
Traces of chloroform were also found in Casey Anthony's car trunk, and evidence was found that someone had searched the Internet on her computer for the use of the chemical and how to make it.[54]  On November 26, 2008, officials released 700 pages of documents related to the Anthony investigation, which included evidence of Google searches of the terms "neck breaking", "how to make chloroform", and "death" on Casey Anthony's home computer.[55]

Quote
On February 18, 2009, documents released by the State Attorney's Office in Florida indicated that the same type of laundry bag, duct tape, and plastic bags discovered at the crime scene were found in the house where Casey and Caylee resided. Heart-shaped stickers were also recovered by investigators. According to an FBI laboratory email, a heart-shaped outline was originally seen on the duct tape that was recovered from the mouth area of Caylee's skull, but the laboratory was not able to capture the heart shape photographically and could no longer see it after the duct tape was dusted for fingerprint processing. The documents also indicate that Cindy Anthony stated to them that a Winnie the Pooh blanket was missing from Caylee's bed. This type of blanket was found at the crime scene. An entry from Casey Anthony's diary was also released.[56]

The following diary entry by Casey Anthony is dated "June 21" and reads:

I have no regrets, just a bit worried. I just want for everything to work out OK. I completely trust my own judgment and know that I made the right decision. I just hope that the end justifies the means. I just want to know what the future will hold for me. I guess I will soon see – This is the happiest that I have been in a very long time. I hope that my happiness will continue to grow– I've made new friends that I really like. I've surrounded myself with good people – I am finally happy. Let's just hope that it doesn't change.[57]

 :driving:

nothing in there proves that she did it.  if i looked up "how to kill a rough ridin' Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!)" and my next door neighbor went missing, am i guilty?  nah.

Proving something beyond a reasonable doubt has become practically impossible in today's justice system.

Agreed.  If prosecutors need a video tape of the killing or a confession (not always effective) then we are going to see a lot of folks take their public defender and try the case.

Pick the right jury.

This is the only thing all day that truly made me mad:

http://news.yahoo.com/casey-anthony-acquitted-killing-young-daughter-191600480.html

Quote
Among the trial spectators was 51-year-old Robin Wilkie, who said she has spent $3,000 on hotels and food since arriving June 10th from Lake Minnetonka, Minn. She tallied more than 100 hours standing in line to wait for tickets and got into the courtroom 15 times.
She said she's fascinated with the case because she is a victim of violent crime.
"True crime has become a unique genre of entertainment," Wilkie said. "Her (Casey's) stories are so extreme and fantastic it's hard to believe they're true but that's what engrosses people. This case has sex, lies and video tapes — just like on reality TV."

Baez is the new Johnny Cochran.

I just tweeted this like, minutes before this post  :dubious:

Oh it's trending

Not as original as i thought

And all of you are dumbasses.

OJ was a giant black man at the height of his popularity when he chopped the heads off of a blonde barbie and her ken looking boyfriend.  He did this in the driveway of a house he paid for and the ken was driving a car that OJ paid for.  There was blood evidence at his house and on his stuff.

Casey Anthony was tried for murder when there was no cause of death.  The prosecutor seemed to focus on the fact that she was guilty because she got her drink on while her kid was missing.  Add to this Casey's family was willing to be party to wild lies to save their daughter/little sister.

There was only one Johnnie Cochran, RIP.

Serious question.  How is even possible to be tried for murder when a cause of death can't be determined?  If you don't know how someone died isn't that in itself reasonable doubt that said person was murdered?

But in each case it was the entire news media and therefore the world vs the accused, and the accused won. Baez = Cochran

Exactly. Cochran was a much better lawyer, no doubt, but Baez is going to be able to increase the cost of his services by about 2000%.

Duct tape kills people?  What part of "no official cause of death" don't you understand?  If they knew duct tape killed the kid wouldn't the cause of death be asphyxiation?  Even the most staunch Casey haterz, e.g. Nancy Grace, can't/won't say the kid died from having duct tape on her mouth.  Capital murder jurors shouldn't make asumptions bro.
