Camping in Boulder

Wife and I are traveling to a Yoga retreat in Boulder. The locals say the snow has made the normal camping spots in Boulder out of commission. Does anyone have any recs on where to stay?

-Cheap
-Somewhat safe
-Disease Free

Know a chick in Boulder and have always wanted to camp in her box.  Not sure your wife would like that?  :dunno:  She is extremely hot and I think very sexually repressed if that helps??...

Sounds kinda weird but the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes is pretty sweet.  And no, it's not an actual YMCA.  If you hippies know how to work google.com, give it a whirl.

There are plenty of chain hotels (and chain everything else) in boulder.  Do your wife a favor and pony up the $89.99 p/nt it costs to stay at the Hampton Inn.

Thanks for the obvious jerk. Of course there's cheap motels around. We're looking to rough it a bit and either camp at a campground or find a relatively cheap cabin, like the Griswolds stayed at in Lampoons Vacation.

I stayed at the Rodeway Inn last football season with SoftTacoWallace and Squirellman.

Practically a tent/cabin.

Yeah, I'm with you.  The deal was just too good to pass up though.  Literally cost me like 20 bucks to stay there for the night after we split it 3 ways.  Not to mention it was a game weekend.

iirc it wasn't really too awful for the price.  hotels in general kinda gross me out, and i didn't head to the hospital for a rape kit in the morning.  would post-pak there again.

don't know what that means for 'ole lefty's odds on giving his girl multiple orgasms, though.  i wish you the best!

Live in Denver, just spent the weekend in Estes Park/Rocky Mountain National Park:
- When are you going?  Don't know what the "normal camping spots" are, but there were plenty people camping at Rocky this weekend, and there's not a lot of snow on the ground at most campsites, unless you are trying to camp above 8,000 ft.  Also, supposed to be really warm this week (90+ degrees in Denver), so that should further alleviate snow concerns.
- Don't know if you want to make a 45 minute drive everyday, but there are a lot of cabins in and around Estes - we stayed here this weekend:  http://www.brynwood.com/  If you call you can get a room for $80.  crapload of other options, though.

Camping is generally not advised outside the city limits. They have like large predators banging around town all the time, imagine what it's like in the mountains.

Just stick to Boulder with its award-winning restaurants and world-renown arts and culture. Then maybe you all can drop down to Colorado Springs on Sunday for church and whatnot.

Long story short camping is stupid and I have no recommendos. :star: :star: :star:
