There is no worst feeling in the world for me when a co-worker proudly announces they have brought bagels in for everyone, only to discover that they are from Panera, and they only have goy flavors and goy cream cheese.

Asiago bagel with sun dried tomato cream cheese

FYI-not all cream cheese is sweet...most is savory and used in cooking -not baking- BTW-sweet cream cheese is gross.

Panera bagels don't have the chewy "crust" - they are more like bread. They don't boil them, they just put them in a steam box.

Actually i've noticed that with all bread here in the midwest, spongy, soft.

fwiw, anything with +33% milkfat is going to be sweet.

Look, this thread is about bagels, not cream cheese. If you want to make a new thread about cream cheese, be my guest. I think we all know what people are talking about when they say "sweet cream cheese" - bullshit like honey almond, straw/ras/blueberry, etc.
